HANNAH’S POV:
I rolled my eyes and literally ran away from him toward the door because I genuinely wasn't sure I could resist him for too much longer. Six months of marriage and he still affected me like this.
I heard him laughing even harder from behind me as I hurried down the hallway.
As usual, Elijah and I were the last ones to arrive at the beach. Everyone else was already seated at the beautifully decorated table, candles flickering in the gentle breeze.
We got situated in our seats, and everyone immediately started complimenting each other's outfits. Cherry looked adorable in a flowy maternity dress. Lucas had gone full vacation mode in a bright colored shirt. Martin looked casually elegant as always.
As we started eating the delicious food the staff had prepared, as we laughed and told stories and got progressively merrier with wine and good company, Elijah suddenly stood up and clinked his glass lightly with a fork.
"Okay," he announced, getting everyone's attention. "Before Jacob inevitably burns something and we all have to pretend it's just 'smoky flavor,' I would like to propose a toast."
Jacob scoffed dramatically from his seat. "You wound me deeply, brother. My grilling skills are impeccable."
Everyone laughed. Elijah ignored him completely.
"I want to toast to Hannah," he said.
I froze in genuine surprise, my fork halfway to my mouth. I felt every single eye at the table turn toward me. I instinctively leaned closer to Elijah, my throat tightening with unexpected emotion.
"To my incredible wife," Elijah continued, his voice steady and full of pride. "Who literally survived hell. Who built a real empire from nothing. Who created a life and career that most people only dream about. And who somehow still makes time to yell at all of us over card games and make sure we're eating properly."
Warm laughter rippled around the table.
"To her new collection," Cherry added enthusiastically, lifting her glass of sparkling water. "Which officially drops in just a few days and is already making everyone in the fashion industry go absolutely crazy with anticipation."
