The Internet Explodes
MARY’S POV:
The new trending headline sitting at the very top of the screen read:
“Vesper, the Desperate Mistress Who Tried to Run Over the Legal Wife of the Billionaire She Wants to Marry.’
The refusal of her crazy fanbase to accept defeat had only served to push the entire scandal to an even higher level of public attention. Thousands of people were flooding the comment sections, viciously attacking anyone who dared to speak out against Vesper, defending her bad behavior with a level of anger that looked like complete madness. They were calling me a dirty liar, a cold manipulator, and a bitter, jealous woman who was trying to quin another person’s happiness.
“Beatrice needs to post official proof showing she is really Alistair’s birth mother. Otherwise, she is just another online hater trying to destroy Vesper.”
The entire internet had exploded into absolute biggi mess.
There were hundreds of thousands of angry comments dropping every minute. Millions of people were watching the news video clips. The crazy story was spreading across every major platform like a massive wildfire, destroying everything in its path. People all over the country were taking sides, forming online groups, and declaring war against anyone who disagreed with their opinion.
Dozens of commentary videos were gaining massive amounts of view counts, with one of the most viral titles reading:
Alistair’s face turned completely pale, his nervous eyes darting all around the quiet hospital hallway. He looked exactly like a hunted animal that had been cornered in a dark alley, having completely run out of ways to escape. His large hands were shaking visibly at his sides, his breath coming out in short, panicked gasps. He opened his mouth to say something, but quickly snapped it shut. He took a long, deep breath, forcing his body to calm down as best he could.
“Do not post a single response online,” he instructed her, his voice sounding tight, cold, and strained. “Do not say a single word to the media. Do not do anything at all for now. I am going to call my corporate PR team right this second and have them handle the entire situation. They will fix this mess for us. They always fix every problem.”
At that exact second, Alistair’s phone began ringing loudly inside his suit pocket.
The sharp, loud ringtone sliced right through the heavy tension in the hallway like a silver knife.
