When Love Turns Dangerous 

ELIJAH’S POV: 

THAT NIGHT: 

“How dare you humiliate me like that in front of all those people?” Janet asked. 

“Elijah, you’ve been so unfair to Janet, who stood by your side all these years. She was by your side, when your’. wife’ left and this is what she gets in repayment?” My mother raised her voice angrily. 

“How dare you intend to make this up to her?” Mrs Jones inquired. 

“Do you know how perfect she was for you. Every successful man needs a star like this in his arms and you two were admired by the whole world. When it all honesty she’s way too good for you! My princess deserves the world and not all these scarps you’ve been giving her all these years.” Her father pointed out, staring at me with disdain. 

While my father just poured himself a glass of scotch and leaned back on the couch in the living room. 

After everything had happened and I had spoken to Hannah and she left angrily, I winced flexing my jaws as I don’t think anyone had ever slapped me that hard nor do I even think anyone had even slapped me at all. But I was so certain, her fingers were going to appear on my cheeks as a bruise the next day. 

If that was the price I had to pay for wanting my family then so be it. 

However, Janet had already left before I returned which wasn’t surprising but when I got home both our parents had arrived and I could feel the tension as soon as I stepped into the room, so I knew today was going to be one of my cheat days, so I poured myself a glass of scotch as well and took a seat. I was instantly attacked with questions and harsh words. 

Based on what I saw, Janet had called them but few minutes after I arrived, she was in joggers and a hoddie and took a seat next to my mum and cried in her arms. 1 

“You are totally right, Mister Jones, she truly deserves better and I’m not just that. I can’t be the man for her. Janet, I will always have love for you, but right now, I have to get my wife and family back.” I told them with finality and they stared at me with wide eyes, until Janet broke down sobbing. 

“What do you mean ‘family’? Are you saying Hannah had your child?” My father asked, speaking for the first time in thirty minutes.
