The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back) novel Chapter 86

Breaking the Pattern

ELIJAH’S POV:

A WEEK LATER:

After the dinner with Lucas and my brother, as well as my parents changing their minds at the last minute, I soon realised a few things and took note of them.

First of all, my parents were not actually parents, they were control freaks who had plans for their children and any one who wasn’t perfect would be ditched to the side and since we were just two, at least one of us needed to be perfect and obey their wishes and that was me until I hated my life.

I’m so glad that I actually love running a company, else I would have been searching for another path.

I also realized to not relent in what I wanted and also to be a better man not just for me but also for the people around me. Becoming better gave me a level of confidence and this self assurance no one could take from me. I knew what I wanted now, and I was ready to do anything and go through any means to get it.

The past few days, Hannah has been more distant than she already was and I had just caught a view of her side profile. She wasn’t sleeping home, neither was she doing anything at the house. The kids weren’t even speaking to me, and it was like everytime I felt closer to them, they were reminded of my past and took a step back.

But I wasn’t going to give up,

The irony? The more I tried, the more distant she became and the all became.

While I was at the office, I thought for a second and called Jacob. He picked it up on the third ring and immediately said, “What’s up bro?”

Where he was, sounded noisy and it sounded like he was at practice and I confirmed it that he was, by the sound of the whistle.

“I have a favor to ask.” I began and he hummed giving room to proceed saying, “Alright… Hurry because I’m at practice.”

“Okay I need to ask for Maya’s contact.” I asked and noticed he was requesting to switch to video call so I accepted.

“Why would you ask for that? And what makes you even think I have it?” He frowned deeply and I rolled my eyes knowing it was just pretense.

“I have a meeting to get to and you have a practice to get back to. Send it to me, I need to ask something about my wife.” It excited me calling her my wife even though I knew if I tried to say it in her presence she would be mad.
