The Verdict on My Husband the Judge: GUILTY novel Chapter 18

Chapter 2

Two days passed in a blink, and Theo never once came hom

But Bianca made sure I heard from her plenty.

Her first text was smug as hell: So what if you’re married? I’m the one by his side. Always.

Then came the photosdozens of them showing clothes scattered across hotel room floors, their hands intertwined on silk sheets, and scratch marks raking down Theo’s bare back.

Some were recent, but others were years old with timestamps matching every important moment Theo had missed with me.

On our anniversary, he’d been throwing Bianca a birthday blowout.

On my birthday, he’d whisked her away on some countryside escape.

The day I miscarried and bled through the hospital sheets alone, he’d been at her apartment with a heating pad for

her cramps.

A cold spike of pain lanced through my chest.

I swallowed the rage and typed back: Dogs don’t bite their owners. Guess that makes you lower than a dog.

Within minutes my phone rangTheo.

What the hell is your problem, Juliette? I called the whole thing off and you’re STILL pulling this crap!

His voice was raw with fury.

Apologize to Bianca right now or I swear to God we’re done!

My breath caught.

I stared at the phone like it had just spoken a foreign language.

Had heactually changed his mind? Called off sending met Sander?

For one pathetic second, I actually let myself believe him.

Then midnight came.

A bucket of ice water hit my face and killed that delusion for good.

Chapter 2

I woke up gasping in a dark basement where my eyes slowly adjusted to find Theo slumped in the corner with cigarette butts scattered around his feet like a graveyard.

SLAP. SLAP.

Bianca’s hand cracked across my face twice, her manicured mails scratching lines of fire into my skin.

Her eyes brimmed with tears like she was the victim here.

Why do YOU get everything while I’m left with NOTHING?s not fair! I hate you so much!

I ignored her completely and locked eyes with Theo.

So you’re really gonna just sit there while she does this?

He shifted uncomfortably. Look, just deal with it for now, alright?

Bianca’s had it rough. This is all she’s asking for. Just let her blow off some steam.

Another slap. This time the crystal on her ring tore through my eyelid and everything went red.

Something inside me finally went quiet.

I closed my eyes and opened them again.

Theo. Let’s get a divorce.
