The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 931

Hearing her husband say the medical checkup didn't meet the requirements, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

But seeing Jamison's firm stance now, an endless wave of sorrow washed over her, and she couldn't help wishing someone could still donate.

At the very least, it would save a life.

"Uncle Jamison, we asked the doctors. A living liver transplant just means donating a portion of the lobe. The liver regenerates quickly. In about six months, the cells will regrow to eighty percent of normal function. The impact on the donor is temporary, but it could save your life! Even if you aren't thinking of yourself, aren't you thinking of Ivy? Of the boys? Not to mention your parents. They're elderly, and they worry about you every single day. Your life doesn't just belong to you..."

Boyd pleaded earnestly, but before he could finish, Jamison held up a hand. "Enough. I appreciate your good intentions, but my answer is still no."

"Jamison, you—"

"I'm tired. All of you, go home. Don't bother coming to the hospital unless it's urgent. I prefer the quiet." Unwilling to hear any more persuasion, Jamison bluntly asked them to leave.

Thad took a step forward. "Jamison, everyone genuinely wants to help. Think it over. This is our most promising option right now."

"No need. Go home. Get back to your own lives."

Jamison had made up his mind, his resolve unshakable. He looked at Thad and added, "Look after Mom and Dad. With everything going on at The Ludwig Group, you need to carry the weight. You're at the helm of the family now. You can't afford any mistakes."

Before anyone could argue, he turned to his wife. "Ivy, see them out. I'm exhausted."

Startled back to reality by the sound of her name, Ivy stepped away from her two sons and stood up.

"Um... thank you all for coming. I truly appreciate it. But since he won't agree, let's just leave it at that." Though her heart was bleeding, Ivy chose to respect her husband's wishes and politely asked everyone to go.

The group exchanged helpless glances. After a tense pause, they finally turned and filed out of the room.

Naylor's expression was grim. Once outside, he lowered his voice. "I'm going to get tested too. Let's see if I'm a match. Just in case..."

Ivy shot him a look of profound gratitude. Unable to speak, she simply offered a slight nod.

After the crowd dispersed, Ivy turned back. Davina stood behind her and murmured, "I'll take Floyd and Denis home. Have a proper talk with Jamison."

Ivy knew exactly what she meant—she needed to keep pushing Jamison to accept the transplant.

"Okay. Thank you, Davina," Ivy said, managing a strained smile. She crouched down to cup her sons' faces. "Be good for Davina. No fussing, alright? Mommy will be home later to be with you."

He was always so good to her, so fiercely devoted. Even when she was in the wrong, his forgiveness was absolute.

"If you understand that, then won't you change your mind? Just for me?" she pleaded. "I know we'd owe a massive debt, but we could spend the rest of our lives making up for it. As long as you live, I'd give up everything we own."

The implication was clear: if someone was a match and willing to donate, she would hand over her entire fortune as compensation.

Jamison shook his head. "Money isn't everything. We can't just buy our way through this."

"But what if they volunteer?" Ivy squeezed his hand, leaning in desperately. "If it's voluntary, would you still refuse? You've always taken such good care of everyone. We're family. If someone is willing to sacrifice a little to save you, would you really say no?"

Jamison stared intently at his wife, his eyes bloodshot.

If it was truly voluntary...

His resolve began to fracture. If someone genuinely wanted to do it, then of course, he wanted to live.

But the real question remained: would it actually be voluntary?
