Without even giving him a second to respond, Ivy pulled out her phone to call the family.
She moved so fast that Jamison couldn't even react.
"What's the rush? We should at least discuss what kind of wedding we want and what you're hoping for. This is our once-in-a-lifetime ceremony, after all..."
Ivy answered without a moment's hesitation, "All I want is for you to live. Nothing else matters!"
"..." That single sentence left Jamison entirely speechless.
All I want is for you to live.
He suddenly understood. Loving someone didn't mean doing what he thought was best, but doing what she believed was best.
If he rejected her donation and failed to find a suitable liver in time, he would pass away full of regrets...
Once he died, all his pain would end. He would feel nothing.
But Ivy would spend the rest of her life drowning in agony.
Jamison said nothing more, simply looking at his wife with eyes full of guilt and apology.
Ivy got through on the phone. Danny answered on the other end.
She didn't waste any time on small talk. "Danny, Jamison and I are having a wedding. In three days. I need you to mobilize the family, call in everyone who can help, and make sure this wedding happens flawlessly in three days."
Danny was thoroughly confused, but out of absolute trust in his daughter-in-law, he didn't question it. He only confirmed, "A wedding? In three days?"
"Yes."
"Alright, leave it to me. In three days, you two will be the most beautiful bride and the most handsome groom!"
Ivy smiled, her warmth crossing through the line. "Thank you, Danny. Call me if you run into any issues. You have full authority over everything except what Jamison and I will wear."
"Got it. Understood. Don't you worry about a thing!"
Hanging up, Ivy looked back at Jamison. He was frowning. "This is our wedding. You're washing your hands of it so completely, it's as if my dad is the one getting married."
Ivy shot him a glare. "Say one more word and I'm not marrying you."
"..." Jamison pressed his lips together and stayed silent.
"As long as we're the bride and groom, nothing else matters. You want me to micromanage a wedding in three days? Are you trying to work me to death?" Ivy continued scolding him in a huff.
Jamison lost all his fight. Looking at his wife like a scolded puppy, he conceded, "Then let the old man worry about it... It's a father's job to worry about his son's wedding anyway."
