Without even giving him a second to respond, Ivy pulled out her phone to call the family.
She moved so fast that Jamison couldn't even react.
"What's the rush? We should at least discuss what kind of wedding we want and what you're hoping for. This is our once-in-a-lifetime ceremony, after all..."
Ivy answered without a moment's hesitation, "All I want is for you to live. Nothing else matters!"
"..." That single sentence left Jamison entirely speechless.
All I want is for you to live.
He suddenly understood. Loving someone didn't mean doing what he thought was best, but doing what she believed was best.
If he rejected her donation and failed to find a suitable liver in time, he would pass away full of regrets...
Once he died, all his pain would end. He would feel nothing.
But Ivy would spend the rest of her life drowning in agony.
Jamison said nothing more, simply looking at his wife with eyes full of guilt and apology.
Ivy got through on the phone. Danny answered on the other end.
She didn't waste any time on small talk. "Danny, Jamison and I are having a wedding. In three days. I need you to mobilize the family, call in everyone who can help, and make sure this wedding happens flawlessly in three days."
Danny was thoroughly confused, but out of absolute trust in his daughter-in-law, he didn't question it. He only confirmed, "A wedding? In three days?"
"Yes."
"Alright, leave it to me. In three days, you two will be the most beautiful bride and the most handsome groom!"
Ivy smiled, her warmth crossing through the line. "Thank you, Danny. Call me if you run into any issues. You have full authority over everything except what Jamison and I will wear."
"Got it. Understood. Don't you worry about a thing!"
Hanging up, Ivy looked back at Jamison. He was frowning. "This is our wedding. You're washing your hands of it so completely, it's as if my dad is the one getting married."
Ivy shot him a glare. "Say one more word and I'm not marrying you."
"..." Jamison pressed his lips together and stayed silent.
"As long as we're the bride and groom, nothing else matters. You want me to micromanage a wedding in three days? Are you trying to work me to death?" Ivy continued scolding him in a huff.
Jamison lost all his fight. Looking at his wife like a scolded puppy, he conceded, "Then let the old man worry about it... It's a father's job to worry about his son's wedding anyway."
The bride herself possessed exquisitely sweet features and a gentle, elegant smile. Her eyes, overflowing with blissful sweetness, looked as if they held the entire galaxy, radiant and utterly captivating.
Elegantly lifting the hem of her dress amidst the low gasps of admiration from everyone in the room, Ivy walked gracefully toward a spellbound Jamison. It was as if she were stepping out of a starry sky and descending into the mortal realm.
Seeing his brother frozen in a daze, Thad nudged him. "What are you standing there for? Go to her!"
Jamison snapped out of it and hurried forward.
He had changed into a sharply tailored tuxedo, looking every bit the elegant, commanding gentleman. He easily stood out in any crowd.
Seeing his overwhelming excitement as he approached, his eyes hungrily taking in every detail of her appearance, Ivy felt a surge of joy. She wanted to laugh but forced herself to maintain an air of dignified restraint, pressing her lips together to hold back her smile.
"Ivy..." Jamison stopped in front of his wife, his chest rising and falling visibly, his breath entirely hitched.
He murmured her name, reaching out to take her hand, his fingertips trembling slightly.
Ivy looked up at him, her own heart racing. It had been a long time since she had seen her husband look this devastatingly handsome and breathtaking.
"Pull yourself together. Have you never seen a beautiful woman before?" Ivy teased softly, feeling the damp heat of his palms.
Jamison laughed, his eyes still roaming over her, playing right into her joke. "I've never seen an Angel."
