His sudden remark left Evelyn stunned, and it took her a while to comprehend the meaning behind his words.
She lowered her head, but the smile on her face became even more mocking.
“Mr. Scott, if you didn’t want to get married, you should have gone to your fiancée instead of telling me, as your marriage has never been my concern.
Evelyn vaguely sensed his thoughts, but she didn’t reveal it. Their fate was determined by him personally, and once the choice was made, there was no burning back
She didn’t love him anymore and she wouldn’t come back to him.
“Mr. Scott, please come back. Your fiancée and family are still waiting for you in Kingstead.”
After speaking. Evelyn didn’t stay any longer and turned to go upstairs. Ethan quickly followed, wanting to explain, but she stopped him. She paused at the staircase, without looking back, but clearly noticed his actions.
“This is the girls‘ dormitory, Mr. Scott. It would be inappropriate to go any further.”
After hearing her words, Ethan paused for a moment but still couldn’t give up and asked, “Evile, can we really not go back to how things were between
“Which past do you want to go back to, when I still loved you, but you kept pushing me away? Evelyn shook her head, her voice choked with emotion. “But it was too exhausting, having to force myself to eat spicy food I couldn’t handle, walking several kilometers home alone, being the first one to be abandoned when I got hurt.”
Her accusations hit him word by word, making his heart bleed. He shook his head, repeatedly uttering three words,
“Going back to an earlier time, you were good to me. I was immersed in your tenderness, but I could only suppress my feelings. I couldn’t love, I couldn’t ask for it. Ethan, don’t you think you were a bit cruel? Isn’t it better this way now? I listened to your words and let go of my feelings for you. I have to stay away
y from you to avoid getting hurt by you. I don’t need to force myself for someone else’s preferences, and I won’t be abandoned by you for someone else. I will like someone my age and live a normal life. Isn’t that good?”
Until this moment, Ethan finally understood as he watched Evelyn walk back to his side, that Sophia had intentionally been sending her messages with screenshots of every past day, along with photos of their time together to provoke her, and telling her about the things he had done to make Evelyn give up on him
“I didn’t know… Evie, I didn’t know she did these things, and I didn’t know you would be so upset…!
His eyes showed pleading, but Evelyn had already hidden her sadness in her eyes. After expressing all her thoughts in her heart, she felt a sense of relief and no longer felt the sadness she had experienced before.
“Ethan, you still haven’t understood why you came to see me. Come back to me when you figure out exactly what answer you’re looking for.” She looked
Erhan finnly and then turned around to go upstairs.
This time, Ethan did not chase anymore, and Evelyn did not linger anymore.
When I returned to the dormitory, it was already half past eleven. I had to wake up early tomorrow. After quickly washing up, Evelyn turned off the lights and lay back on the bed, ready to sleep. Suddenly, she heard Ella’s voice.
“Evie, weren’t you happy?”
In order not to disturb the other roommates, she lowered her voice. Fortunately, Evelyn’s bed was close enough, so she could still bear clearly. She didn’t expect Ella to be so sensitive. She paused for a moment, but still answered her question, “A little bit.”

Ch 50 Beginning of 4th Short story. Only 1 page. Incomplete. Summary from reading elsewhere: The world’s perfect couple. Husband is famous CEO who deals in jewelry and designed signature pieces for his beloved and doted on wife. To the world, and to her, they are they perfect loving couple, until she finds out he is having an affair with his Secretary. I can’t remember if it was a physical one or emotional (I can’t recall the correct name for it) one. Long story short, since she told him when she first agreed to be with him that if he ever betrayed her she would disappear from his world, she staged her suicide whilst exposing his affair (I think he also made custom designs for that woman or let her wear his signature piece for her) to the world. She moved abroad and opened a flower shop or something. He eventually finds her but I think she had quietly started dating someone else. Trying not to mix up stories. End the end, she doesn’t go back, he is miserable and regrets, I think he works himself to death, dies early and leaves everything to her....
Ch 49 End of Short Story 3. Too Late to Regret, I’ll call it. I like that she didn’t change her mind and she had valid points because even after realizing Carina’s presence and neediness and his catering to her ruined his family, he still hasn’t sent her packing. He could have had another friend hire her as a Secretary after regaining all the memories, but even after losing his wife and son behind his dealings with her and neglect of his wife and how he started to see her, he still indulged this woman and kept her on. I don’t like how the child isn’t mentioned in the end or how Wayne ended up in the end....
Ch 48 Oh, I like how this went. They both remain the same age but their circumstances changed… well hers did, and they just popped into the life they would have had. But that means theirs a child somewhere without parents but with his memories intact of who his parents were supposed to be since they kept their bodies....

He doesn’t find it odd that she knew where it was and since it was pink she would think it was for her? He thinks she needs him so he can do whatever he wants. I’m already not liking her thinking to make him change their past to fix their future. Leave him.
