Chapter 133

His eyes widened ever so slightly and I continued to speak.
“Yes. I’ve wanted Aaron all my life and I can’t just dump those feelings in one go. But when you…you kissed me in front of them all, you…made me forget everything else. You always do. Do you even know what Elder Johanson did to me all day? Then Rory was being a creep, yet nobody said a word, not Aaron and not any other elder either. But you did. I…I fucking rat to you the second you showed up. You…picked a dress for me and I felt like I looked beautiful, like I was a princess, not a girl who gets ignored by everyone. What kind of a loser or a monster does that? And would I run to a monster and hug him he second he walked in?”
I kept babbling, unsure if I was even making any sense. But Connor just kept watching me.
“Maybe you should not run to a monster or kiss him back”
“MR. CONNOR ASHFORD, don’t you dare stand there and tell me who I should want or not. That is entirely my decision. And if wanting you makes me a bad girl then so be it. I am a bad girl who loved being claimed in front of everyone. I am a bad girl because I wanted you to see me in this stupid dress and I can’t stop thinking about you when you are not around. I I got jealous of a fucking intern in your office and I wanted to chop Elise’s hands that were around your neck and I hated the way those two girls at the masked ball kept running their hands all over you because nobody else gets to do that except me.”
Connor blinked as I stopped to take a pause to breathe in because I had launched in a tirade of sorts.
I was heaving like I had run a marathon and pushed the stray locks of hair behind my ears.
When my breathing returned to normal, I looked up at him and noticed how that sadness from his face had disappeared completely. It was a good thing but there was a hint of mischief glinting in his eyes.
“What are you staring at?” I asked him in a frustrated voice.
He tilted his head to the side.
“Did you just admit to wanting exclusive rights to me?”
I blinked. “Not really”
He took a step closer. “And that you wore this dress just to impress me?”
I took a step back.
“I didn’t say that”
His lips were curling up and I was slowly stepping back while he continued to step forward.
“You love belonging to me”
I took a step back again but then the back of my legs collided with something cold and I looked back to see it was the car’s hood.
“…didn’t say that either”
His hand came out of the pocket to rest on the cool metal hood and I reeled back, the upper half of my body lying on the car’s hood while my feet stayed on the ground.
Connor’s voice was pleassire wrapped in sin

Chapter 133
“You said all of that and much more, speckles. You admitted to being a bad girl.”
He lowered his mouth to my face, his hot breath fanning my ears.
“And do you know what bad girls ought to get?” He asked and I turned my face to look at him, our lips inches apart.
“What?” I croaked.
“They ought to get punished”
My heart lodged somewhere in my throat when I heard him say that. And I fought to keep my hands firmly on my side because my body took that as an invitation.
“Soo….” he continued and his finger reached for the lock of my hair and then slowly continued down my jaw, down towards my throat.
“Do you want to repeat whatever you shouted out loud minutes earlier?”
His voice had gone low and gravely and I felt a shiver run down my spine that I blamed on the cool air around me.
“I…”
He chuckled darkly. “Lost your tongue, speckles?”
His finger continued to travel down my throat and then moved to my collarbone, trailing further down the soft fabric.
I arched further into his delicious touch. His eyes weark, and guarded, but the hunger in them was unmistakable.
“You hid things from me when I invited you into my life, my bed” he said, voice low and rough.
“Tell me speckles, are you still hiding anything from me?”
I couldn’t answer straight away. I still hadn’t told him about his mom’s note or his father’s threat. And I didn’t plan to until I found out more about either of their motivations for their behavior.
So I deflected the question entirely.
“I hid things from you because I was scared,” I whispered, my voice barely audible over the gentle murmur of the river.
“And look what it got you. A punishment. Though it doesn’t look like you will regret it.”
I shook my head. “N–no”
He pushed me further onto the car, pressing me flush against the cool metal hood.
The night air felt electric against my skin. “Then I’m going to remind you exactly why you love being punished. And you’re going to let me because you like being owned by this monster.”
I gulped nervously, my body already thrumming in anticipation. But he didn’t rush.
Instead, he took his time, fingers tracing the beaded straps that made up the sleeves of my dress. The tiny beads chicked softly under his touch, cool against my heated skin.
I shivered, a small gasp escaping my lips as he slowly slid one strap down my shoulder, his fingertips grazing my collarbone,
then the curve of thy breast.
