The Wrong Brother's Temptation novel Chapter 132

Chapter 132

Sienna

I saw a guard passing by and quickly muttered. Can we not do this here, please? I’ll tell you everything on the way to m home.

Connor exhaled slowly. He opened the car door and I got in immediately. He followed suit and then he was driving past massive front yard through the posh driveway and the gates opened even before we reached there.

Connor, relax!I tried to speak but he only accelerated the speed of the car and I held onto the seatbelt as he drove blindingly fast. He was pissed.

The city sped beside us in a blur and I only caught a glance of the streetlamps before they disappeared completely.

Connor, my home isn’t this wayI muttered, grabbing the door handle as he took a sharp right and the car almost knock a lamppost.

I looked outside the window to catch bushes and trees all around us. Based on the way the car slightly wobbled at times, I realized we were off the smooth road and onto some dirt patch.

Connor kept driving as the greenery grew denser around us and only the car’s headlights flashed in front of us, revealing dark rich forest.

Connor!!

I shouted again and the car swiveled to the right dangerously. I braced for the tree trunk that seemed to come faster at me and placed my hands over my head, bending down, certain that the car was going to get impaled on it.

I stayed like that for a while, heart in my throat until I dared look up. The tree trunk was just outside the window but the ca was not broken and I was unharmed.

I sagged in relief and looked to my left, only to realize that Connor wasn’t in the driver’s seat anymore.

I gathered the folds of my gown in my hands and stepped out to see the most breathtaking sight of my life.

In front of me a river was flowing softly and the moon was glittering like a diamond in the sky that was peppered with tiny little stars.

And Connor stood looking at the river, his posture stiff and his back facing me. He had taken his coat and robes off and had his sleeves rolled up, hands in his pockets.

Something about his posture and the way he watched the river broke my heart. He had been so angry and confident in front of those people but here, he lookedalone.

I slowly walked towards him, the beauty of this breathtaking spot at odds with the tension radiating off his body

I struggled to find the right words to open up the conversation so for a while I simply stood beside him, looking at the strained expression on his face, the moonlight highlighting the sharp angles of his face.

I come here when I need to tell myself I’m not the monster everyone thinks I am.he said quietly, voice rough Including you.

Shit.

It would have been better if he just shouted at me, yelled and fought with me, called me all the names I had when I was trying to hide something from him..

Chapter 132

But this….how was I supposed to react to this?

You are not a monsterI said, not to me

He kept staring at the river and the water flowing quietly.

I used to be. You have shed a lot of tears in childhood because of me, or are you forgetting it, Sienna Miller?

After hearing him call me Ashford, somehow Miller sounded wrong to my ears.

I stepped in front of him, looking him in the eye.

That is a thing of the pastI said with as much conviction as I could.

Connor wasn’t impressed.

Look at you, defending a monster who just cut someone’s hands in a room full of people. I am a monster, Sienna. That’s why you didn’t trust me to handle things for you.He chuckled in disappointment.

Is that what Aaron spent a fortune on? Taking those pictures down? Because I can’t see them anywhere. Fucking Rory mu have downloaded it. I am going to find every fucking person who has it and destroy their phones

Relax, Connor. You can’t possiblyI began but he raked a frustrated hand through his hair.

Then tell me what I should do to make you come to me first, not fucking Aaron

The intensity with which he said that took me by surprise.

You did what nobody dared to. You got angry when I looked at Aaron right? Part of meI searched for the right words wanted him to take a stand for me. But he didn’t

Are you sad your bully did what your crush was supposed to do for you?Connor asked, eyes searching mine.

No. Yes. MaybeI sighed. I don’t know

Connor looked at the water again, at the moonlight painting silvery streaks on the surface that rippled softly every now and then.

You still want him, don’t you?Connor asked and I bit my lip nervously. Because the first thought that popped up in my head wasn’t an instant yes!

And that scared me. Because maybe my heart was starting to want something else now and I wasn’t too sure how to feel about it.

When I didn’t answer at first, he pulled out a cigarette and lighter from his pocket.

You smoke?

You are not the only one with secretsHe answered, lighting up the cigarette.

He took a long puff and exhaled a small cloud of smoke from his mouth.

I am sorry, Connor. Really

Aaron must have had the time of his life playing savior for you. He loves that so much he freaking hired goons to do it againand thats the man you want

I know it’s stupid but I had him as a constant presence in my life and even I don’t know when I started crushing on him. Sometimes. I curse myself for even liking him.

Chapter 132

री

That’s the first sensible thing you’ve said all day. Finally, something we can agree on. Just remember your fucking crush lacks a spine to stand up for you so I became the villain. Not that it surprised anybody.

He took another puff and then put the cigarette away like even that wasn’t enough to calm him.
