Chapter 241
Sienna
I didn’t think he said that line to his attackers.
“Are you talking to me because…”
I didn’t get to finish the question as the second man came from behind.
Connor ducked, spun, and slammed an elbow into his face.
Blood sprayed across the carpet. The man howled and went down clutching his nose.
“Of course I am” Connor raked a hand through his hair. “Who else is the damsel in distress here?”
I knit my brows. “Excuse me?”

The man somehow staggered back on his feet, holding his head with one hand and grabbed a nearby bottle to hit Connor.
“Behind you!!” I screamed.
Connor’s hand shot behind without him having to look at his attacker and he yanked it down hard against his shoulder, grabbing the bottle and smashing it on the man’s head.
The man went down in a shower of glass and blood, falling just a few steps away from me.
“And what in the fuck,” Connor said, without turning, “were you doing standing there like a scared rabbit?”
“What?”
The man twitched so he slammed his foot hard on the man’s abdomen, crushing a few ribs. He wailed like a dying bird.
Connor lifted him up by the scruff of his neck.
“Why the fuck did you get on the stage? putting all that perfume and following me like a flamingo in that hideous pink dress like i wouldn’t notice?”
I gawked at him, my mouth half hanging open.
“You knew all this time?”
Connor slammed his head onto the bleeding man’s head, and the man went down like a house of cards, knocked out senseless.
Or maybe he was dead, I couldn’t tell for sure.
Connor just released him from his grip, and took a step back, watching him twitch for a second before he

stopped moving altogether.
He kicked the unmoving body “Of course I did, you idiot”
Idiot?
“How dare you call me that?”

The third man had started running but stopped midway, his eyes darting from me to Connor cluelessly.
“Because that’s what you are! A reckless, disobedient idiot”
I jutted my chin up. “If you didn’t notice, I was being held hostage while you were busy partying and dancing around with the girls”
Connor kicked a stray bottle away from himself. “And whose fault is that?”
The third man was still staring when Connor looked back at him with a scowl.
“Are you gonna just stand there or what?”
He blinked and rushed at him. Connor caught him by the collar and drove his forehead into the man’s nose that cracked and blood spurted out of it freely.
“Why are you being so…rude?” I shouted. “I tried to leaaaave!”
“Then you didn’t try hard enough.”
Connor delivered a series of punches into the third man’s abdomen who tried fighting back in vain.
“Bob wouldn’t let me!” I held onto my head with a hand because I was starting to get a headache.
“Who?” He threw the third man to the floor like he weighed nothing
My head hurt. “You listened to a man named Bob.”
The judgement in that line made me want to spontaneously combust.
“This is all your fault.”
Connor gave me a look but then mumbled. “Watch his elbow.”
“Do you see how it’s swinging a little?”
“Connor, I’m trying to…”
Then Connor grabbed that elbow, raised his leg to slam it on his knee. The man howled in pain as the elbow definitely broke in two as it went limp.
“That’s what you do when someone tries to force you. Not listen to stupid people.” He kicked him away and the man flying in the air, crashing against a table and going down with it.

“Spongebob forced me…” Connor muttered in a low pitched voice as if he was mimicking me.
And that, more than anything else that had occurred tonight, infuriated the hell out of me.
“His name is Bob”
Connor continued mimicking me and I bristled with irritation.

“Who do you think you are?” I shouted, my voice hoarse and the headache growing worser than it was a second ago because I couldn’t keep yelling at him when he was fighting.
He would blame me for distracting him.
“Watch the fight, Sienna.”
Sienna, not speckles!
“I am watching the fight!” I replied indignantly.
“You are watching my face. Watch our movements!!”
“Why the hell are you giving me a lesson in the middle of an active fight?”
“Because…”
He turned to the fourth man who came swinging a metal rod.
Connor let the first punch go past his ear, stepped in, and hit him under the ribs so hard the man’s feet left the floor.
He landed on his back on the carpet and didn’t get up.
“…I can”
I stood there with my mouth open. The wreckage of the club spread around us, overturned tables, glass glittering under the pulsing lights, a few girls crouched behind the bar with their hands over their heads, someone sobbing somewhere.
They all ran outside the second the carnage stopped, leaving just me and Connor among a pile of bodies and broken furniture.
My heart was still going wild. My legs were still shaking.
And Connor was standing in the middle of it all, breathing hard.
His knuckles were split knuckles and blood was dripping down his sleeves I wasn’t sure was not his.
