Chapter 65
Sienna
I shivered hard but my chin lifted stubbornly.
“Because we are in the middle of a fight. I’m shaking with…anger”
I lied.

“Keep fighting me, Speckles,” he rasped, the words vibrating through his chest into mine. One hand stayed firm on my back, fingers tracing lazy, maddening circles against bare skin. “Or this is heading somewhere very different.”
My pulse skyrocketed and I bit my lower lip slowly, deliberately.
His gaze zeroed in on my mouth like a hawk spotting prey. “Don’t do that.”
I did it again, slower this time, holding his stare.
A low groan rumbled from deep in his throat. His fingers slid into my hair, gripping just tight enough to tilt my face up to his.
Our lips hovered inches apart, breaths mingling hot and ragged. I could feel the tension coiling in every muscle of his body, the barely–leashed power radiating off him.
“Stop being such a tease,” he warned, voice rough as crushed velvet. “I drove like a madman across the city because of you. I’ll make you pay for every second of it.”
A thrill shot straight through me, pooling low and liquid in my belly.
“Pay you how?” I whispered, voice husky with challenge and need.
His grip in my hair tightened, angling my face perfectly. The air between us crackled and I grew anxious, desperate, every nerve ending singing.
“The way I want you to” He said and then he bent, scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing.
My indignant yelp echoed down the hall as my fists pounded his back.
“This is ridiculous. You can’t just-”
“I just did,” he said.
“Connor Ashford, put me down right now!”
“Not a chance.” He strode out of the ruined suite, one arm banded firmly across the backs of my thighs to keep that dress from riding up any further for prying eyes. A wide–eyed maid froze mid–step as we passed but he ignored her.

my attention? You’ve got it. But we’re doing this properly and without any audience.”
He kicked open the door to the next private suite down the hall and I mentally thanked the Goddess that these luxury rooms were clustered together. The space was even more opulent in this suite with soft lighting. a proper massage table in the center of the treatment area, and wide windows overlooking the gardens.
It would have been perfect if he wasn’t manhandling me.
I squirmed harder. “This is kidnapping! I swear I’ll…”
He set me down on the edge of the massage table, caging me in with his arms on either side.
“You’ll what? Keep moaning for that pathetic excuse of a masseur?” His voice dropped, rough and dark.
“II” shit, I was fumbling now.
“No. You’re going to strip, lie down, and let me show you what real hands feel like.”
As if I would let him do that. My eyes flashed with challenge even when I saw him noticing the way my thighs pressed together. “Make me.”
“Last chance, Speckles. Back off before you regret what is going to happen.”
I shrugged, trying to quieten my heart that was beating louder than a wardrum.
“What’s there to regret?” I squeaked. “We….are a fake couple…doing fake things.”
His left eyebrow almost disappeared behind his hairline.
“Fine then. Let’s see how good you are at faking things with your fake boyfriend.”
Connor smirked, already reaching for the phone on the side table.
“Reception? This is Connor Ashford. Send all the massage supplies and extra towels for a full session to suite twenty–eight now.”
He hung up
without waiting for confirmation.
“So you can just barge in this resort, tear down a door and then order them to get massage oils. To do what? Are you going to become a masseur after Aaron takes over the pack?”
I knew I shouldn’t even be thinking about Aaron now but the fact that I wasn’t afraid of what I was going to do with Connor terrified me.
I should be afraid of him, I should be anxious of letting him touch me, he shouldn’t be the person I call when something goes wrong in my life.
It was Aaron, it had always been him. And yet here I was….anticipating his half brother filling me up.
Good that he couldn’t read my mind.

I crossed my arms, still perched defiantly on the table. “Bossy much? What if I don’t want to be with here with you?”
Connor had opened his mouth to answer but then there was a knock on the door. He pushed it wide open to grab the basket and sauntered over to the table to place it right beside me.
Then placing both his hands on either side of me, he murmured.
“The door is wide open for you. Leave…or lock it if you want.”
He kept his gaze locked on me and slowly straightened to give me enough room to step down.
I got down on the floor and rushed to the door, reaching for the door handle almost immediately. Connor stayed where he was, leaning slightly against the table.
“I don’t have all day, speckles. Walk out or in.”
I hesitated and then heard the sound of Sandra and her friends chatting with each other, giggling and laughing.
I didn’t want to look at them again, or spend the rest of my evening staring at their sour faces.
I shut the door, taking in a long breath.
“I’m staying back only because I don’t want to meet those mean girls again.”
I huffed, trying to make myself look bigger and unaffected when I could feel my core already starting to throb a little.
“So you don’t want this?”
I scoffed. “Obviously”
Bottles of luxurious oil gleamed in the low light and I saw the way he poured some into his palm, warming it between his hands while watching me.
Just the thought of those strong hands on my body sent a thrill down my spine.
