Chapter 64

I drove through the city that moved past the windows faster than was strictly legal and I kept both hands on the wheel, trying very hard to not think about the sound she’d made when Peter found the tension in her calf, and the way she’d said right there to him in an almost strangled voice.
Fuck! Something hot and completely irrational moved through my chest and settled there with no intention of leaving.
I asked her to get him to leave because I wasn’t sure I would let him live if I got my hands on him.
But she stubbornly denied it and I heard her laugh.
Fuck, I was going to teach her some manners.
Despite not wanting to, I kept listening to her shamelessly and Peter said something that made her laugh again, and then she let out a sound that was almost like a moan.
I ended the call because I was on a road that required both hands and a level of concentration I was not currently capable of.
The resort’s grand entrance loomed ahead sooner than it had any right to. I slammed the car into the parking lot, barely registering the crunch of gravel under the tires.
A slick–looking manager, Marcus, according to his nametag, came jogging out hurriedly. “Welcome, alpha Connor Ashford! We’re delighted to have such an esteemed…”
I grabbed him by the collar and slammed him back against the polished stone wall hard enough to rattle the nearby potted palms. His polished shoes dangled an inch off the ground as he looked at me with fearful eyes.
“Sienna Miller. Where is she?”
Marcus’s face drained of color. “Alpha, our guests prize their privacy. I’m sure if you’ll just allow me to…”
My grip tightened, fangs threatening to descend. “I need her room number right now or your resort will be shut down forever.”
He folded instantly, voice trembling. “Third building… private suite twenty–seven. Please, Alpha Connor, I meant no disrespect…”
I released him and he crumpled against the wall, gasping apologies I didn’t bother acknowledging. Female staff members froze in the lobby, eyes wide as they drank in the sight of me storming through like a wrathful storm. I ignored their stares, asking for directions at the first trembling attendant I passed.
“That…way” she pointed and I marched through the passageway before stopping outside the door of suite twenty–seven.
I hadn’t even reached for the door handle yet when I heard a voice that was more like a soft moan. I didn’t need to hear it twice to know that it came from Sienna.

Rage exploded behind my eyes and I kicked the door clean off its hinges when my shoe connected with the door. Wood splintered with a satisfying crack along with a chunk of a wall.
Through the puff of dust that rose as a few debris came loose, I saw her sprawled on the luxurious bed in that tiny summer dress that barely covered her thighs. Peter was bent over her legs, hands on her legs.
I saw red and my hand reached forward, yanking him off her by the back of his shirt.
1 slammed him into the nearest wall and my fist connected with his jaw once, twice. The satisfying crunch of bone was music to my wolf’s ears.
“Connor!” Sienna scrambled up, eyes wide with panic. “Stop! He was just massaging my feet, that’s all!”
Peter whimpered and blood trickled from a split lip. I delivered one more open–handed slap for good measure because from the angle that I had seen him bent over her, he could have been…no, I didn’t let myself finish that thought.
My chest was heaving by the time I let go of him.
“alpha… I was only…” He began but I leveled a glare at him and he knew better than to keep talking.
“Nothing happened,” she repeated desperately, stepping between us. “Let him go, please. He was only massaging my sore feet.”
I shoved the trembling masseur toward the ruined doorway. “Get the fuck out before I change my mind.”
He fled like the hounds of hell were after him which was a smart decision considering I might have just done
that.
I rounded on Sienna as she stood there in the soft afternoon light filtering through gauzy curtains, that flimsy dress clinging to every curve, hair slightly mussed, cheeks flushed with a mix of anger and something hotter.
My blood was still pounding with possessive fury.
“What the fuck were you thinking?” I roared, voice echoing off the high ceilings. “Letting another man put his hands all over you? After taunting me with that picture like it was some sick game?”
She flinched at first, then her spine straightened, fire flashing in those dark brown eyes I couldn’t get enough of.
“You fucking broke the door to my room!”
“Because you let me think he was doing more than a massage.”
She placed her hands on her hips.
“So what if he was? You don’t own me, Connor Ashford! We’re supposed to be fake, remember? Or did you forget while you were playing helpful teacher with that blushing intern this morning?”
The argument ignited like dry tinder.

“I was in my bloody office help her with the spreadsheet, not letting her hands roam over my bare legs.”
Her cheeks flushed. “That’s….what a massage means. You have to touch bare skin.”
“Yeah? Fine then. Have it your way. Go get him back and I’ll go get the intern to massage me. My shoulders are stiff…”
I said, angrily stepping away but then she reached for my wrist and yanked it hard, making me almost trip.
I was taken aback by the sheer ferocity this little thing could display as she bared her teeth, hissing me like a feral kitten.
“I want you to try”
The way she challenged me and the way her freckles looked even more redder was such a turn on.
Sienna was breathing hard, her cheeks flushed and I only stared at her, surprised to see this side of hers.
“Are you seriously jealous of the intern?” I asked and she seemed to have realized that she reacted a bit too much.
Sienna looked to the side, and I could see the cogs of her brain churning and working hard to come up with a suitable explanation.
I saw her fumble and push her hair back.
“I was just saying… we got to keep up with appearances.”
Okay that was a lame excuse and she knew it.
“What’s going on, Speckles?” I asked, eyes searching hers.
She let out an exasperated sigh.
“I dont know. Just…leave” She said and began to walk away but my hand reached for her wrist as I pulled her towards me.
“You taunted me with the pics of some random guy, pretended to moan under his touch…and now that I drove here in under twelve minutes, leaving my meeting and all the work for today…you are asking me to leave?”
