I stared at the phone for far longer than I cared to admit. I wished this was a dream, that I was imagining Connor smiling at someone else, posing for pictures with his hand low on her waist.

And my brain wasn’t helping because it was churning up vivid images of them having a post break–up slash apology accepted, hot, reckless sex.

I distinctly remembered that girl because I had seen her run out of his room crying, and then he had smirked at me, not even denying the fact that he hurt her in some way.

I wasn’t sure how my body still craved this man who had flown to another continent for work and somehow met her again.

Had he planned it all along after sleeping with me and giving me a false promise of a good time?

Aaron’s words echoed in my head. “That’s how Connor is” he had said.

I was so blinded by my desperation to win back Aaron that I didn’t even realize who I was letting claim me recklessly.

My phone buzzed and I hated the way I reached for it hastily, hoping it was /Connor. And my heart did that odd flutter upon realizing it was truly him.

The text read that he had almost closed the deal and was coming back home soon….

I bit on my lower lip nervously.

Then checked social media to see a string of another pictures at an upscale and posh fine dining restaurant with him and her smiling at each other.

She had tagged him in every single picture and the way they were looking at each other was…flirtatious.

One in particular had her hands thrown around his neck like she was about to kiss him. I clicked on her profile and studied it.

Her full name was Elise Harrington, daughter of Alpha Harrington…

My head was struggling to piece everything together. Was he really cracking a deal or…just fucking her brains

out?

I had no idea how business deals were made but I sure hoped it didn’t involve sleeping with a potential client’s daughter.

Annoyed and frustrated, I threw my phone on the bedside table and myself on the bed, pulling the pillows closer.

I had barely buried my face in it when my phone started ringing. Damn, this plastic box!

When it kept ringing forever, I finally picked it to see Aaron’s name flash on the screen.

“Are you really going to just make me come over every single time to drag you out of your hiding spot?”

Aaron spoke but his voice didn’t come from the phone. He was climbing my window again and hopped inside.

“What are you doing here?” I asked and rushed to help him get up.

He dusted his hands and muttered. “I knew you wouldn’t answer and I’d have to drag you outside but damn, you don’t have to prove me right everytime Sia.”

I placed my hands on my hips. “We have a front door, you know. You can come like normal people not a thief.”

He shrugged. “I came through the window because I found a way to drag you out of your miserable hellhole while you are wallowing about Connor.”

“I am not wallowing about anything”

He gave me a look. “Really? Look me in the eye and tell me that you didn’t check the pictures a thousand times already.”

“I didn’t” I lied but it wasn’t very convincing.

“I know you don’t want my lecture on how Connor is a playboy so I won’t give you that.”

“Thanks”

“I do, however, think you need some fresh company.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, tilting my head.

“I thought about this entire scenario and realized that you need to meet more people so that you realize there are several nice men and women out there.”

“I don’t want to meet anyone.”

He pulled up two bags and placed them on my bed.

“You absolutely do. Now go get changed and get ready. You have an hour.” He said, tapping his wrist watch.

I laughed. “Are you kidnapping me again to watch some silly movies and have popcorn?”

“Even better. I am sending you on a cute little date.”

My eyes widened and my heart almost skipped a beat.

“A date?” I repeated, not sure if I could trust my ears.

Aaron nodded, giving me a wide smile.

“You know what a date is right? Where a girl and a boy meet and grab a coffee or food depending on whatever they like…”

“Shut up. I know what a date is. I just didn’t think…”

I trailed off, unsure of how to put it correctly. Aaron was dating Sandra and he told me he wasn’t exclusive with her yet.

Wait, did that mean he was asking me out? But why now?

The image of him and Lily making out in that room flashed in front of my eyes.
