Chapter 185 Bugs Everywhere. Swarming, Crawling, Packed Tight
Right now, Xavier only cared about Lila. She was the only one who could get to him. Whitney was planning to use Lila to break down Xavier’s guard, so she could snatch the prime bug while he was distracted.
Once Xavier was separated from the prime bug, Whitney could finally make her move. She could use the prime bug to draw out the bugs inside Ryan without hurting him.
While talking, Whitney quietly edged closer to Xavier. But as she was five steps away from Xavier, he suddenly snapped his head up.
His bloodshot, crazed eyes locked onto Whitney. “Little girl, you and I both trained under the same mentor. Do you really think your little tricks could ever bewitch me? What a joke!”
He suddenly lashed out at Whitney. Countless bugs burst from his palm, swarming straight for her face. This was his breeding ground, a place crawling with his bugs. It was the perfect place for him to fight.
“Xavier, don’t hurt her!” Ryan’s eyes widened in shock as he lunged toward Whitney, trying to shield her from the bugs. But as soon as Ryan made a move, Xavier suddenly clenched the glass bottle in his hand.
Inside, the prime bug’s countless antennae seemed to swell, writhing wildly within the bottle. At that very moment, Ryan felt a wave of intense pain crash through his body.
The pain hit him so hard his legs buckled, and he dropped to his knees with a heavy thud. He clutched his chest, his face turning deathly pale.
“Ryan, your life is in my hands. I’m warning you. Don’t move,” Xavier said, shaking the prime bug in his hand, a wild grin spreading across his face.
Then, as a swarm of bugs flew straight at Whitney, she leaped into the air. There was barely any room to dodge in the cramped space. Her fingertips sparked with a few flashes of eerie purple light. Whoosh! Something whistled through the
air.
A step from where Whitney had been, the bugs all dropped to the floor in a heap. As soon as Whitney dodged, she snapped her fingers, sending several silver needles flying straight at Xavier
She launched them from a wickedly tricky angle, making them nearly impossible to block. The needles zeroed in on the pressure points along Xavier’s arms and legs, aiming to immobilize him.
Xavier was already in rough shape, his movements sluggish/and unsteady. As Whitney made her move, he tried to dodge to the side. But in that instant, he lost control of the prime bug and could no longer command the bugs inside Ryan.
Ryan finally had a chance to catch his breath. Xavier managed to dodge most of the needles, but two silver ones still buried themselves in his arm. The needle tips shimmered with a cold, eerie light, casting a chill across the dim room.
“Little girl, I told you. Your mentor and I came from the same school,” Xavier said, staring at the silver needles trembling in
his arm.
He slowly reached up and pulled the needles out, a chilling smile creeping across his lips. “Your little tricks aren’t one percent as good as your mentor’s.”
Whitney flashed a sly grin. “Who cares? Pinning your pressure points was never my goal.”
Xavier’s smile froze, his eyes turning cold and shadowed as he tried to figure out what Whitney was really getting at. The very next moment, a sudden numbness shot through his arm. His fingers locked up, rigid and unresponsive.
He could no longer control his arm at all, and his expression shifted as shock and panic flickered across his face. “Did you poison those needles?” Xavier yelled, staring at Whitney in disbelief.
Whitney grinned and nodded, watching as the poison crept up his arm. Yet even with his arm going numb, he still refused to let go of the glass bottle holding the prime bug.
She tilted her head, “You and my mentor learned from the same master, but what he taught me is nothing like what you learned. You’re a bug master, but me… I’m a doctor. Everything I learned was about healing and toxins.”
By now, Xavier’s body had been eaten up by his own bugs. He was barely holding together. What was left was a walking corpse, running on pure obsession. Sealing his pressure points wouldn’t really help.
Plus, Xavier kept going on about how he and her him from the start.

came master, so that move was useless against
Her real goal was to use the silver needles to inject her custom-made poison straight into Xavier’s body through his pressure points.
Chapter 185 Bugs Everywhere. Swarming, Grawling, P…
Though Xavier’s body was already riddled with all kinds of bug toxins, that didn’t mean he was immune to everything. The venom she’d brewed up could still mess him up.
Whitney wanted to numb Xavier’s arm so he’d be forced to release his grip on the prime bug controlling Ryan.
But Xavier’s willpower was insane. Even as the poison ravaged his body, he clung to the prime bug, holding on for dear life and refusing to let go.
But then again, Xavier had managed to keep himself going all this time, his body battered and barely holding together, fueled by his obsession with Lila. That showed he was a man with truly unyielding determination.
