This Time Hi Be the Villain’s Favorite Daughter novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101 Headache

No. That won’t work

Until every threat was gone, Lawrence wouldn’t go near her. Not under any circumstances.

“From the photo, the two of you do look very alike. And there’s a strong chance the girl was adopted,” Thomas said, still thinking it through in a calm, logical way. “When the test results come back, I’ll bring her home.

“Get some rest first.”

With that, he turned to leave.

Just as Thomas reached the door, Lawrence’s calm voice came from behind him.

“Dad.”

Thomas stopped and looked back.

“Don’t disturb her.” Lawrence’s voice was soft, but cold. “At least not before I do…

“No one else is allowed.”

Thomas frowned slightly. “Don’t you want her to come home?”

Lawrence didn’t answer.

Thomas stood there, almost lost in thought. He blinked slowly, staring at the little girl in the school photo. Deep down, he felt uneasy.

He told himself he wasn’t worried-but that was a lie. He told himself he didn’t want to see her-but that was also a lie.

She looked so happy.

If he showed up out of nowhere, he would only ruin that happiness.

Maybe he could wait.

Wait until he got rid of everyone. Then, before he died, he could make one bold call-or just see her from a distance.

At that thought, Thomas gently cupped his face and smiled.

If I could see her one last time before I die, that would be enough.

A week passed.

During that time, Kaia finally found a chance to get close to Maya.

Before the school’s arts showcase, there was a group rehearsal. The backstage lounge was crowded and messy, with people moving in and out nonstop.

Chapter 101 Headache

Maya was looking down, fixing her costume. Kaia walked past her, pretending it was nothing. As she did, she casually reached out and lightly brushed her fingers over Maya’s soft hair resting on her shoulder.

At first, it was just a test.

But then she felt a tiny tug.

Her eyes lit up.

A thin strand of hair had come loose and wrapped around her fingertip.

Kaia was thrilled. She quickly curled her fingers, hiding the hair in her palm, then walked away like nothing happened. Soon after, she placed it carefully into a sealed sample bag and closed it tight.

Perfect!

Dad is definitely going to praise me.

After school, the moment she got home, Kaia rushed straight into the study.

Under Thomas’s questioning gaze, she held out the sealed bag like it was a gift. Standing on her tiptoes, she lifted her face and said excitedly, “Dad! I got it!

“When are you going to build me a new amusement park? I want it in blue! Like the sky and the ocean! Or purple is fine too-I heard purple has a nicer vibe.”

Her childish request made Thomas chuckle.

He had been annoyed all day-company issues, and Lawrence’s strange behavior-but when he took the bag and looked at the strand of hair inside, his mood shifted. For once, he felt a flicker of excitement.

Kaia kept talking about her reward in his ear.

Distracted, he replied, “Alright, I promise. I’ll have designers draw up some plans first, and you can pick the style you like.”

But his attention was already fully on the sample bag.

He called his assistant and gave a quiet order-to run a DNA test between this sample and his own, as fast as possible.

The wait was unbearable.

At first, he felt excited, even hopeful. But soon, reality crept in.

For once, Thomas found himself lost in thought.

If Maya really is the daughter I’ve been searching for all these years, what should I do?

Kaia had always been by his side.

If Lawrence wasn’t so against it, Thomas would have wanted to raise both girls together.
