This Time Hi Be the Villain’s Favorite Daughter novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111 Where’s the Blond Guy?

No.

Toby quickly rejected the idea.

A sniper rifle was too fast. Death would come in an instant. With adrenaline surging, the guy might not even feel any pain before it was over.

That was far too easy on the bastard.

He bit his lip, his expression twisted and cold. What about a Gatling gun instead?

He would make sure that trash was riddled with holes.

“This really isn’t stolen property.”

George was still lightly explaining himself to Maya. “And it’s not an antique either. It’s just a pretty nice accessory, so it’s fine if you keep it.”

Actually, it didn’t really seem like his brother’s taste either.

Too girly.

What he had taken was something he got by picking a lock.

There had been a small carved bracelet and an open-circle pendant, both clearly sized for a child.

Out of kindness, he hadn’t taken the whole set.

He had only picked the prettier pendant.

His idiot brother should be thanking him.

Maya was unusually kind for once. “If you’re really broke, you could sell this for money. I don’t actually need much money.”

She had money.

One of Toby’s backup credit cards was in her hands.

The limit was so high she had never even bothered counting how many zeros came after it.

Forget her everyday expenses. If she suddenly felt like buying a private jet or an island, it would still be more than enough.

“I don’t need money either,” George said with smiling eyes. “My family is actually pretty well-off. Even if I ran out, it’d be easy to get some fast.”

Pretty well-off?

“Then why don’t you just be a good person?” she asked, confused.

Maya had always thought criminals only turned to crime when they had no other choice.

“It’s the family business. A normal person’s life is boring to me.”

As he spoke, he reached out by habit and ruffled her hair into a mess.

Maya gave him two strange looks after hearing that.

So it was a family business.

That sounded even more sinister.

And being bored with life…

Alfred said things like that too.

Sometimes he even mocked his classmates’ intelligence.

Maya drifted into thought.

It felt like once Alfred got older, he might not enjoy a rule-following life either.

George kindly helped put the pendant on her.

“This really is pretty,” Maya said after coming back to herself, rising onto her toes a little. “How did you buy it?”

“Ah, I didn’t buy it. I got it by picking the lock.”

Ignoring Maya’s stunned look, George pulled a wire from his pocket and bent it lightly. The soft metal curved into a circle in his hand. He spoke casually, “I know how to pick locks. These days people tend to use electronic locks more, but…”

He knew his brother too well.

Compared to electronic locks, his brother preferred flashy, impractical display cases that needed keys.

There was no special reason.

Toby always paid for beautiful things.

He didn’t finish the sentence, but the mockery in his tone was obvious. He casually dropped the wire ring into her hand. “Want to learn lockpicking? I can teach you.”

Maya lowered her head and looked at the crooked little metal ring in her hand. After two seconds of silence, she gave an honest review. “You gave me more useless trash.”

“How is it trash?” George protested unhappily. “I could bend it into a little rabbit too. Do you like rabbits?”

“No thanks.”

He got rejected again.

“I’ve got some things going on lately, so I won’t be coming to see you for a while.”

Finisher

George felt like he had been paying a fair amount of attention to her. He bent down until their eyes met, and for once, there was a trace of seriousness in his warning. “Be good at school. Don’t run around. No matter what you see or hear, just play dumb. After all, you’re a very smart kid.”

He smiled. “And playing dumb is something you’ve always been good at, right?”
