Edric gave a faint smile. “George, are you physically incapable of taking anything seriously?”

George finally stopped joking. He sat up, ran a hand through his hair, and quickly pulled up every nearby security camera.

The recordings rolled forward frame by frame. The taxi took Maya through the empty streets before stopping at a construction site.

There weren’t any cameras near the site.
