This Tinyiff Be the Villain’s Favorite Daughter

Chapter 419 Like Some Chosen Heroine

Kaia had found the statement deeply unsettling at the time.

What did he mean, everything would clear out of my way?

Finished

Yet she’d been so desperate to return home that she could only nod eagerly. “I’ll cooperate fully with your

team.”

She figured it was just a matter of tagging along.

How hard could that be?

“They told me I just need to follow their lead…” Kaia murmured, her voice barely a whisper. “They promised to keep me safe, but I’m still scared doing this alone.”

Jordan, overflowing with righteous zeal, immediately chimed in, “How about we come with you, Kaia? Taking down crime is everyone’s civic duty.”

Jonathan shot him a cold, mocking glare. “You’re a high school student. What good are you going to be?”

Jordan protested, “Hey, what’s that supposed to mean? I know a little martial arts. Besides, even if we’re just there, we can at least give her some moral support.”

Arrabella, who’d seemed completely out of it, snapped back to reality and nodded in agreement.

“He’s right, Kaia. You have to be careful. And if you need us, we’ll be there.”

A soft, small smile bloomed on Kaia’s face. “Thank you, guys.”

She blinked playfully, suddenly tempted to show off by sharing some juicy gossip she’d picked up from Asterio.

“I actually heard a little insider gossip from the organization. Apparently, a top-tier assassin from a notorious syndicate hung up her blades and married the heir to a massive conglomerate.

“Word is, the Silent Archive-this place-has deep, shadowy ties to that very heir.”

“Wait, speaking of that heir…” Jonathan murmured, his tone shifting as he pieced it together. “You’re talking about the Clarks, aren’t you? I know one of their heirs was cast out years ago.” Jonathan was hyper- sensitive to anything involving the Clark name-mostly because Toby had left him with severe childhood

trauma.

Involuntarily, his eyes darted toward Maya.

If he remembered correctly, Toby was her brother.

Which meant she was a blood member of that terrifying, shadowy dynasty.

The thought made Jonathan’s heart skip a beat.

Over the past few days, he’d been plagued by a recurring dream.

Chapter 435 Like Some Chosen Heroine

Firushed

In it, Maya was hopelessly in love with him–she’d even wanted to get engaged-only for him to coldly reject her.

It was utterly absurd, wasn’t it?

He and Maya had loathed each other since childhood.

He used to think she looked familiar when they were kids, but that faint flicker of familiarity had long since curdled into pure mutual hatred.

“That retired assassin you mentioned, Kaia-I know who you mean…” Arrabella bit her lip, her eyes brimming with tears. “A man I knew was part of Asterio.

“Her codename was Banshee. My mentor once told me how formfaable that woman assassin was.

“He told me so much else, too-all about the Silent Archive.”

As Arrabella spoke, tears began streaming down her face. Her mentor had died so suddenly, without rhyme or reason.

Kaia was caught off guard. “Arrabella? Why are you crying?”

“My mentor is dead.” She collapsed onto her desk, sobbing uncontrollably. “He was a good man, but he met such a horrific end. I hate those lawless monsters.”

Jordan panicked, scrambling to comfort her.

“Arrabella,” Kaia said, feeling a pang of sorrow herself, “do you want to come with us? Maybe we can all go with you. The operatives will guarantee our safety anyway.”

Several rogue vigilante factions, along with covert government divisions from both domestic and foreign agencies, were preparing to make their move.

From what Kaia had gathered from her foreign contacts, their world was secretly controlled by an underground syndicate. Conglomerates pulled the strings, while most official institutions chose to turn a blind eye or actively collude.

It had never been a world of black and white; mutual benefit and a careful balance of power with the underground world were simply the norm.

Some simply went along with it, while others refused to play along and were itching to wipe those shadow organizations off the map.

Kaia knew her own limits.

She was no prodigy-just an ordinary girl with absurdly good luck and a rather unusual constitution.
