Chapter 421 Explosive Reveal

Finished

Jonathan’s throat bobbed as he let out a harsh breath, his voice echoing through the room. “Do you dare admit it, Maya?!”

The boy’s declaration hit the room like a hammer, plunging the already quiet classroom into a suffocating, eerie silence.

Jenny’s jaw dropped in sheer disbelief.

Phoebe’s breath hitched, her body reacting on instinct as she wrapped her arms around Jenny in a tight

squeeze.

Iris stopped rocking her chair. She sat straight up, crossing her arms alongside Somalie, their expressions a mixture of cold amusement and pure entertainment.

Both of them shared the exact same thought. Jonathan has officially lost his mind.

Imagine willingly outing Maya’s background in public.

Every single pair of eyes in the classroom locked onto Maya.

For two full seconds, Maya genuinely blanked out.

Faced with the dead silence of the room, her eyes drifted back to Jonathan’s burning, confrontational gaze, and her mind began to spin.

In the first second, she thought, How am I supposed to clean up this mess?

In the second, she thought, Wait… why do I even need to clean it up?

Listening to Jonathan’s self-righteous, condescending tone was driving her insane.

He acted like he was the champion of justice, while she was supposed to cower like a rat in the shadows just because of her family name.

The atmosphere in the room was heavy enough to crush a person, yet Maya turned out to be the calmest

one present.

For the first time in her life, she didn’t bother playing dumb.

“Yeah,” she said, her face entirely void of expression as she owned it. “Those rotten, irredeemable supervillains you were all just gossiping about? Pretty sure that’s my entire family.”

Kaia’s expression was the most complicated of all.

She’d just been gushing about those shadow syndicates with glee.

Now, her own words had turned into a boomerang she’d flung with her own hand-it had circled around and smacked her square in the face.

She stared at Maya, a single thought screaming in her mind, Every word I have just said, Maya has heard all of

Kaia’s face turned from white to bright red, then back to a ghostly pale.

The rest of the group wasn’t faring any better.

Jordan’s brain completely failed to process the massive dump of information packed into that exchange.

Arrabella, with tears still wet on her cheeks, stared at Maya in horror, as if her once-familiar classmate had suddenly morphed into a monster.

Maya, for her part, didn’t give a damn about anyone else’s reactions.

With an indifferent expression, she raised a leg and cleanly kicked the obstructing Jonathan out of her path.

Jonathan grunted as the blow threw him off balance. Yet, driven by pure reflex, he reached out to try to grab her again.

Maya didn’t give him the chance.

She caught his wrist in a vice grip and twisted it backward.

Jonathan went completely limp as blinding pain shot up his arm. His face drained of color, cold sweat instantly beading across his forehead.

His wrist hung at an unnatural angle, his entire arm robbed of strength.

Kaia wasn’t stupid. Sensing the dangerous shift in Maya’s mood, she scrambled to her feet, turned; and bolted out the classroom door.

Maya immediately gave chase.

She was just about to corner Kaia in the hallway when a hand suddenly extended from the doorway, blocking her path.

“Student, running in the halls during class hours is strictly prohibited.”

A teacher had planted himself in her path.

Maya wanted to curse out loud.

She snapped her head up to inspect the intruder.

She did not know him.

She knew almost every faculty member at Harmony International School by face, but this man was a complete stranger.

“I need to speak with a classmate,” Maya said coldly.

“Whatever it is, wait untikafter/class,” the man replied with a calm smile. “Head back to your seat.”

Maya forced herself to cool down. She still didn’t know who was pulling Kaia’s strings behind the scenes, and dragging everything into the open now would only spook the target.

She decided to try a different angle.
