SHENA IS EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE NOT

Despite what Alec said, Fenja didn’t lower her guard down at all, she glared at him viciously and tried to mindlink a warrior nearby.

However, she couldn’t reach any of them. She was sure there were a few warriors around the alpha’s building, they had been around ever since Landon left for the capital city, but strangely enough, Fenja couldn’t feel them. She couldn’t use her mindlink on them. Was it because her wolf spirit got very weak? Fenja was unable to think of other reason aside from that.

“Fenja, I only want to talk. Your father and mother want to talk with you too, why don’t you give them a chance?” Alec took a few steps towards her. “Don’t call any warrior, or else, they will misunderstand our situation.” Alec didn’t have any idea that Fenja couldn’t call the warrior not because she listened to him, but because she couldn’t, yet he didn’t need to know about this fact. Fenja would let Alec to misunderstand it. After all, there was nothing good that would come out with Alec learning more about what she could or couldn’t do now. “Fenja, I didn’t mean it as a threat, but I do it because I don’t want to tarnish your reputation. People talk. What they think if they saw us together in the room?” Alec explained himself when he saw the look on Fenja’s face, but she kept mum, while holding Jaxon closed to her chest.

Meanwhile, Alec approached Fenja slowly and carefully, as if he was approaching an injured animal, that could jump on him and bite at any time.

“Fenja, I only want to talk.” He lowered his body and then sat on the floor when he was only three steps away from her. “Please, understand this.” Alec softened his voice even more.

If it was in the past, Fenja would have fallen for the way he spoke to her, but now the last thing that she wanted to do was to have Alec in her room and talk to her.

“Leave,” Fenja said grimly. “Leave the room now.”

“No, unless you listen to me first.”

Alec could be very stubborn and Fenja didn’t want to deal with this side of him. Hell. She hated him with all of her heart, she hated the fact that he was being here and talking to her.

“I don’t care what people think, I will scream if you don’t leave.” Fenja glared at him viciously and she was serious with what she was saying.

For a brief moment Alec was stunned, but then he shook his head, as if he just remembered that he was facing Fenja now.

“Fenja, you care. You care about what people think about you. You are not going to do it.”

And Fenja hated it when he knew her better than she was willing to admit. “Leave, Alec. I don’t give a fuck about what you are going to say.”

“Your parents are worried about you. They admit that they have done it the wrong way and they want to apologize to you. Please, don’t make things harder than it has to be. You don’t need to make everything very difficult, Fenja.”

Alec should know better than saying such thing to her face.

“Fenja. Don’t do this to yourself and the baby. You need your parents and your baby needs his grandparents to love him.”

“I am more than enough to love him.”

“You need your parents support.”

“I don’t need them.”

“Then who will stand by you when your own mate will not?”

The question punched Fenja on the guts. She wanted to rush towards Alec and clawed the smile from his face, because he knew that he had gotten to her nerves.

“Fenja, think about it. The alpha doesn’t particularly fond of you, if something happened, if something bad happened to you here, you can always go back to your pack. Your parents love you.”

“They only want my child.” Fenja’s eyes narrowed dangerously and this was not a baseless accusation. She knew that she was right.

Her parents only cared about Jaxon simply because he was born as a boy. They didn’t say it out loud, but a boy to carry their bloodline was more than welcomed.

If Xaden kicked her out, then she and her son would belong to the River Creek pack. That was what Neil and Elle had planned.

“Fenja, don’t be difficult.” Alec looked at her with a disagreement and displeasure. “Your mother has been crying. Don’t you feel bad about her?”

“Rather than thinking about my family business, why don’t you think about your own mate?” Fenja said viciously, she squeezed Jaxon’s body a little bit tighter and the baby lifted his head to look at his mother with his big, curious eyes. “Control your mate, so she will not bother me and Xaden anymore.”

“I know that you are upset with how things turned out, but it is unfair if you try to tarnish her name by spreading nasty rumor like that. You know that Shena has been helping in the north for so many years now and the relationship between them two is pure.” Alec scratched his head.

“Is that what Shena said? Is that what you want to believe?” Fenja narrowed her eyes and she smiled derisively at Alec. “You are so naïve, Alec. I thought you are smarter than this.”

Alec pressed his lips, he looked so angry with the way Fenja talked to him.

“You are upset because Shena went to the capital city with alpha Xaden, while you stuck here, right?” Alec’s eyes darkened. It seemed Fenja’s words got on his nerves and it hurt him, thus he wanted to hurt her back. “I know that you have been jealous on Shena. She is everything that you can’t be. Beautiful and smart and many people love her, while you… it is so hard to love you.”

The pain returned. It was suffocating and Fenja was having a hard time to bear it. Her vision blurred slightly; out of pain, out of anger.

“Out! Out of my room! Get out!” Fenja screamed and Alec was panic because he didn’t expect she would do this. Of course, he was dare enough to climb the window and enter the room because he relied on the fact that Fenja would be too scared to let anyone know a man was inside her room.

However, who would have thought that Fenja was actually going to scream?

“Fenja, stop this! Are you insane? Do you want to kill me?” Xaden was a little bit flustered, out of instinct, he moved closer to her with the the intention to cover her mouth.

But, baby Jaxon could feel the distress of his mother and he started crying as well instead. His face turned red and he screamed, which only added to the chaotic situation.

Alec couldn’t believe he had to deal with this situation.

“Fenja, stop this!”

And suddenly the door was slammed open and both of them whipped their head towards the door to find Kane was standing there.

Murderous intention waved in the air and it came from the beta.

“What are you doing here?” Kane was not playing a game when he approached Fenja and baby Jaxon, he stood in front of them protectively and glared down at Alec, who slowly stood up. “Who allowed you to enter the room?”

Fear crept in. He swallowed hard when he realized what kind of situation he was in. He looked at the beta in the eyes, but he knew that he had screwed up big time.

“Look, I mean no harm.” Alec raised both of his hands in a surrendering gesture.

“I doubt that.” Kane’s voice turned into a growl. “Don’t you dare to move any closer. I will take this as an offense for our luna.”

And after Kane said that, there were four warriors entered the room, they were surprised to see Alec was there. “What are you doing?! How could you let him enter the luna’s bedroom?!” Kane roared at them angrily and the four warriors were visibly trembling in fear.

Meanwhile, Fenja was unable to stand up, she hugged Jaxon against her chest tightly. The little one’s cries had turned into a sob and he was attuned to the pressure and tension in the room. His chubby cheeks reddened and his eyes were teary.

Of course, this sight made the other warriors felt so bad for their incapability to prevent Alec entered the room.

They didn’t know what happened, but it seemed this man had been trying to find a way to talk with their luna. After all, it was well known that the alpha from the River Creek pack had been making a fuss because he was not allowed to meet with his daughter after the incident the other night.

And Alec was part of the River Creek pack, everyone knew that Alec was the son of alpha Neil’s beta.

Thus, no one thought badly about Fenja or even thought she was the one, who had invited Alec to the room, just like how Alec wanted Fenja to think in order to prevent her from calling the warriors into the room.

“No, this is a misunderstanding.” Alec gritted his teeth, he made a mental calculation on what he had to do in this situation, every option didn’t look good. He was cornered now.

“Misunderstanding? You, the alpha and the luna really love to use that words.” Kane looked at Alec grimly.” You have been talking about misunderstanding very often, I wonder if it is really a misunderstanding or it is some kind of stupidity, where you can’t read the room?”

That was a blatant insult and Alec wanted to scream at Kane for what he said, yet the four warriors had approached him.

“Take him to the dungeon,” Kane said.

“What?”

Hearing that, Alec was stunned, because he expected to be escorted out of the room and he was already thinking of a way to sneak in again. Fenja only needed to be convinced, he had known her for so long, he knew how to get to her.

However, apparently that was not going to work.

“Take him to the dungeon and he will be there until the alpha or the luna said otherwise.”

“You can’t take me to the dungeon. I am the beta’s son, a beta like you can’t deliver the order to punish me. I didn’t do any harm!”

Kane glared at Alec when he tried to get away from the warriors who were going to restraint him, he was so close to shift into his beast form and if it happened, there would be a fight.

Obviously, Kane was not afraid of the fight, but Fenja and Jaxon were so close and they were inside the room. It was too risky and he wouldn’t take the risk with Xaden’s mate and son.

“Take him out.” Kane mindlinked a few warriors more to get closer, just in case he would need them to protect Fenja. “If I were you, I wouldn’t do that.” Kane warned Alec when he was about to shift into his beast.

Unfortunately for the beta, the other man didn’t listen, as he saw no other way for him to get out of this situation unscathed.

“I only want to talk with her!” Alec roared before he shifted into his beast. In a matter of second, in his place standing a brown wolf.

In an instant, the four warriors immediately shifted into their own beast too and charged towards Alec, while Kane shifted and stood in front of Fenja and Jaxon, protecting them.

Damn it.

Kane cursed under his breathe because the situation was getting out of hand now.

Fenja moved away from where the battle happened with Kane was still protecting her. She couldn’t stand up and carried Jaxon, because she didn’t have the energy.

She hated herself for being so weak. Why she had to suffer like this when it happened because of Xaden? She hated it.

It didn’t take long before more and more warriors entered the room, some of them joined the fight and some of them stood next to the beta to protect the luna and the alpha’s heir.

Alec was a great warrior, but even so, he was gravely outnumbered and there was no way he could win this battle, he should know that, yet his impulsiveness put him in this situation.

Two minutes later, the warriors managed to put him down and put the silver bracelet around his wrist to prevent him from shifting into his beast form and forced him to go back to his human skin.

Fenja watched everything coldly, she covered Jaxon’s eyes, pressed his face against her chest, so he didn’t need to watch this gruesome sight.

“Fenja! Don’t do this to your family! The only people, who cares about you… people, who truly cares about you is your family! You have to rely on them! Alpha Xaden abandoned you, right?”
