WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH YOU?
Fenja was shocked to say the least when Xaden kept kissing her. At first, it felt like a desperation, but then it turned into longing and the gentleness disappeared, as Xaden hovered above her and spread her legs apart to position himself.
This was something that Fenja didn’t expect at all. She didn’t even imagine that thing would escalate like this. However, she didn’t mind it. She needed him. She didn’t want the rejection, she wanted him and their son… “Don’t say that…” Xaden growled against her lips, as he licked and sucked on her tongue.
“I will not…” Fenja said between the haze. She could feel how hard he was… it felt so heavy on her stomach and when Xaden palmed her breast, Fenja couldn’t help, but moaned into his mouth. The fabric felt annoying, because she wanted to feel his skin.
And as if Xaden read her mind, he pulled down her collar and broke the kiss only to pressed his lips against his mark on Fenja’s neck. He licked and sucked the tender and sensitive skin there, while Fenja gasped in delight.
Her body came to live, she felt like she could breathe again.
Was Xaden trying to close the distance between them? He wanted to fix the bond between them? There were a thousand of questions that Fenja wanted to ask him, but it was hard to think when he was between her legs and his hands roamed her body with delicious touch.
Fenja needed this. Both of them needed the connection to keep their soul alive…
Both of them were starving for each other and they didn’t even realize it until this moment, where the closeness was not even enough… they wanted more, they needed to feel each other, so the gap wouldn’t prevent them to be together.
Their soul should be one, as they were mate. The ceremony had been done in front of the Moon Goddess and this was the sacred bond that shifter could share with each other, the bliss from the Goddess for their kind.
And when Xaden touched her in the way she longed for, Fenja came undone. Her world rattled. It felt like the thirst was finally quenched and both of them was unable to hold themselves back from this intense feeling.
Fenja should be too tired for this, she shouldn’t be able to keep up with Xaden, but she didn’t relent. She wanted him so bad to the point, it hurt her physically.
She didn’t know when she finally gave in, but she had never slept this peacefully ever since she stepped in this pack.
She curled herself beside Xaden, pressed her cheek against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat like a
“aby. This was enough… this should be enough.
Meanwhile, Xaden wrapped his arms protectively around her body. He was too exhausted to do anything else, as he tangled his legs with hers and followed Fenja to a deep slumber.
The long journey had drained his body and soul.

Xaden woke up when it was close to midnight, because he had been feeling this nudging pain on his head. Someone had consistently tried to mindlink him, despite knowing that he didn’t allow them to enter his mind. [What is it?] Xaden asked through mindlink to Kane, who had been contacting him relentlessly.
[Are you here? Damn it, Xaden! I though you will be here in two weeks. Why don’t you send a word?] [The king is monitoring my movement. I can’t risk sending a word beforehand.] Xaden frowned when he felt something soft against his body and when he looked down, he saw Fenja’s nakedness.
Her hair covered most of her face, while her back was on full display, since she laid on his chest with her cheek pressed against him. She was so soft… her scent lingered and he remembered what happened.
Xaden closed his eyes, cursed under his breathe, because he didn’t know whether he had done the right thing

or not.
[Xaden, are you listening to me?] Kane asked in exasperation because Xaden ignored him.
[What is it?]
Xaden could feel Kane’s irritation when he repeated what he said because it was obvious that the alpha didn’t get him in the first time.
[I ask you how could you get here two weeks ahead of time?]
Xaden didn’t answer Kane’s question, but he was thrown back to the fact that he barely took any rest, so he could reach the pack as soon as possible.
He tried to make it a month ahead of time, but apparently, that was too much.
[Where are the rest of the people?] Kane asked again when Xaden didn’t give him any answer.
[They will come later.]
[Don’t tell that you left them?]
And yes, Xaden did leave them behind. But, it was not like they couldn’t find their way back to the northern pack. There would be no problem for them to find a way without Xaden.
[I will meet you later.]
That was all Xaden said before he closed the mindlink and put his focus back on Fenja, who was still sleepin on him. He didn’t try to move, just in case it would wake her up.
He didn’t know why he did this when his every intention to come here was to reject her.
Xaden closed his eyes tiredly. The long journey had drained him and it came as a surprised that he could perform at all.
But, he had to admit it… he couldn’t let her go.
When he wanted to reject her. When the only thing that he had to do was to say her name… he couldn’t bring himself to do it no matter what.
The thought of the pain that he would cause her, and the thought that she would be gone… terrified him. It froze him.
And when Fenja was the one, who took the initiative to reject him and severe the mate bond between them for good… Xaden simply couldn’t.
“What should I do?” Xaden stared at Fenja’s sleeping face grimly. He didn’t come for this. “What should I do now?”
ifted his left arm and stared at it for a long moment. There was nothing there. The red runes didn’t appear. mere was nothing wrong with it…
However, Xaden knew it was there. It was always there, chained him more than a silver could do to a shifter.

“Are you crazy? If you severed the mate bond between you two, you will kill her right in that instance.” Arya glared at Xaden when the alpha looked for her and he told him what he was going to do.
The healer looked very angry, but in front of the alpha’s emotionless expression, she sighed deeply because she knew it was useless.
“Alpha, you shouldn’t have done that.” Arya shook her head. “I have explained to you that her wolf spirit is very weak. To put it frankly, her wolf spirit is dying and the rejection will only give the final blow before you kill it and by extent, you will kill the luna too. If you want to do it, do it now, so I will not waste my time and energy to
heal her.”
Xaden shifted his attention to the healer, which made Arya flinched because of the strong hostility from him for what she said about killing Fenja.
“I mean… killing her right now will be a mercy for her.” Arya pressed her lips. “You are torturing her, you only

prolong her suffering by doing this.”
“The rune, Xaden asked, he changed the topic. “Have you found a way?”
Fenja was still sleeping when Xaden left her on the bed. She didn’t even stir when he got off the bed, and he had put a few more firewood to keep the room warm. It was a good thing that her fever had gone down and her breathing was even.
Xaden knew this that his indifferent had caused her pain, and that was what Fenja needed.
However… she was going to die….
If Fenja tangled in the matter with the king… then she would end up like Leah. And he would be there, watching everything unfolded without being able to do anything.
“I am sorry. I don’t know. It’s an old rune from an old language. I am still trying to figure out and gather more information, but I am not a magic user, I am a healer. I would have done something if I can.”
“Cut off the arm.”
Arya shook her head, she grimaced slightly. “Unfortunately, that can’t do. You will bleed profusely and die. The rune is designed to prevent your healing ability if you disturbed it. So, unless, you are thinking to suicide, I don‘ t think cutting off your arm will be the solution. You know that answer.”
Xaden knew that. His father had tried the same method to no avail. He died because of it and Xaden still remembered that day.
“Fine a way to stop the bleeding even though I don’t have a healing ability.”
Arya opened her mouth, she wanted to say that the possibility for her to find it was close to none, but she nodded anyway.
“Fine. I will try. Let’s see what I can do, but don’t let your hope high.” Arya shook her head again. “I am afraid I will disappoint you.”
“Don’t worry. I have so much disappointment in my life.” Xaden walked out of the infirmary to meet with Kane. “What the meaning of that?” Arya frowned at the alpha’s retreating back.

THE PLAN FOR ARLENE
be here?” Kane stared at Xaden in disbelief. “Damn it. What now?” He shook his head, as if by doing so, he could get rid of the reality before his eyes. “This is crazy.”
Xaden said nothing. They were in the war room and Rize was also there. The gamma was summoned to come to the pack house from the bridge site.
Everything was fine there thus, Rize could leave all the things there to the senior warriors and the gamma from the Black Moon pack to guard the area and made sure it was well protected.
“What now, Xaden?” Rize asked, his expression hardened, as he circled the table and then sat down on one of the chairs. “This doesn’t look good at all.”
“There is nothing good about it, if you ask me.” Kane scratched his head. His easy going nature had disappeared under the stressful circumstance.
While the beta and the gamma were having a hard time to figure out on how to fix the situation, Xaden said nothing. His expression remained unreadable.
“Xaden. Have you told Fenja about this?” Kane asked, he knew that Xaden had met with Fenja, but when he asked how it went, the alpha simply glared at him, as if he had asked the wrong question, thus he left it at that.
It would be easier to ask Fenja directly later.
“No.”
“I guess so.” Kane nodded.
“Will you tell her?” Rize asked this time. He was not close with Fenja, but he kept tab on what happened in the pack.
More or less, the gamma was well informed about Fenja’s condition and how tensed the relationship between Xaden and her.
