The news shocked Shena and angered her at first, but then she realized one thing; Xaden had never had his eyes on her and it had been proven by the way he rejected her that night.

She had stolen a kiss from him and she almost got killed because of that. For sure, she had zero chance to be with him, unless the king said so.

Yet, the king had made it very clear that he wanted his daughter, princess Arlene to be with Xaden and Shena had tried to ask for a meeting with the king, but she was rejected.

“I really hate to repeat myself.” Princess Arlene narrowed her eyes and Shena apologized again for not paying attention. “You don’t think I am important enough to get your attention?”

“No, of course, not.” Shena gave a split–second thought when she finally decided to kneel down before her. She knew this would appease the princess. “I am really sorry, princess Arlene. I was so shocked that you want to visit my humble tent, so I thought I was dreaming.”

Arlene scoffed, she knew that was a lie, she was not someone, who lived for the flattery when everyone around her tried to lick her boats.

However, she let it slide….

“Fine.” Arlene waved her hand casually.

“Thank you, princess…” Shena stood up and she glanced at the princess before her. In her opinion, princess Arlene was not very beautiful, she was average. Shena was sure, she was more beautiful than her. “May I know what bring you here?”

Suddenly, the princess smiled widely. Her auburn hair looked like fire that framed her small face with her lips. as red as her hair.

“I want to ask for your help, can you do something for me?” She smiled sweetly, but it gave chill down to Shena’s spine instead.

Fenja woke up with Xaden was sleeping next to her. He was hugging her tightly with his chin rested on the top of her head. Their legs tangled together and his arms wrapped around her body protectively. She liked this feeling.

Meanwhile, the gentle light of the sun fell on the surface of the snow that covered the ground and sneaked through the branches that knocked softly against the window glass. It was a beautiful sight to be seen.

However, Fenja preferred the sight right next to her.

They had a long, a deep and a meaningful conversation last night, something that she didn’t think was possible, but that happened.

Xaden told her everything more than she could handle. Even now, Fenja’s mind was still reeling with the truth and the predicament that loomed over their head.

However, at the same time she felt very glad. She felt the satisfaction for being close with her mate. Xaden was everything that she wanted and being close to him was what made her feel alive.

The pain in her chest subsided when she was connected with him, when he finally opened up to her and stopped avoiding her.

Sleeping peacefully next to his mate, Xaden actually snore softly, indicating that he was deep in his sleep, something that was so rare to happen with him. He put his guard down completely.

On the other hand, Fenja couldn’t help, but traced her fingers on his cheek. She lifted her body slightly and kissed him on the lips.

Still, Xaden didn’t even stir.

There was a gentle smile on the corner of Fenja’s lips when she hugged him a little bit tighter, burying her face aga his chest.

She wanted this time to stop for a while, so she could savor their moment together. This was the stolen moment between them.

If she could, she would do everything to keep them safe…
