Thorns Grow After Betrayal (Celeste and Chester) novel Chapter 397

Celestine sneered and strode forward.

The next second, in front of everyone, she delivered a swift, hard slap across Chester's face.

The crisp sound echoed through the lobby.

"Chester, I'm seriously starting to wonder if you just lost your memory or if you knocked your brain out along with it!"

Celestine glared angrily at the man, whose head was turned from the force of the blow.

She could ignore his infidelity, but now he was stooping so low as to use their child against her.

"Celly, how could you hit Chester!" Joanna shrieked. "No matter what, you shouldn't have resorted to violence!"

Another slap rang out.

Celestine turned and struck Joanna squarely across the face.

"I was so focused on hitting him, I forgot about you. Do you think that just because Chester has amnesia, you can twist the truth and erase everything that happened? His memory will come back eventually, and I can't wait to see his face when he learns the truth."

She had already guessed that Joanna had spent the past few days twisting the facts and slandering her to Chester.

She might have even painted herself as the innocent victim of an affair.

"Joanna, the truth always comes out in the end," Celestine said coldly, lowering her hand.

Joanna clutched her reddened cheek, biting her lip hard.

She wanted to retaliate but didn't dare make a move with Chester present.

She looked at him, her voice filled with grievance. "Chester, it's one thing for Celly to hit me, but how could she hit you too?"

Chester's expression was frozen from the full force of Celestine's slap.

A wave of dizziness washed over him, and blurred, disparate scenes flashed through his mind.

He quietly tried to commit the images to memory.

Joanna's soft, aggrieved voice pulled him back to the present.

Chester's eyes were dark, but he didn't show the expected anger.
