"How did it go? Did you mention the share transfer to him?"
In the underground parking garage, the man stood with a grim look, his skin a sickly pale.
Even though it wasn't her first time seeing Victor Fordham, Joanna couldn't help but shiver.
Ever since Chester had woken up with amnesia, this cousin, who had been all but exiled by the Fordham family, had sought her out.
He had blackmailed her with evidence of her previous marriage and sordid nightclub photos from her time abroad.
Lately, Victor had been pressuring her to obtain Chester's signature on a share transfer agreement.
She had her own agenda, which was why she was trying to lure Chester into marrying her as soon as possible.
"It's not that easy. Chester has amnesia, he's not an idiot. I'm still looking for an opportunity."
Victor's eyes darkened ominously. "Joanna, don't try to play games with me. I'm not a fool like Chester who gets wrapped around a woman's finger. You'd better cooperate. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind letting everyone see those videos of you marrying and sleeping with old men overseas!"
The man's gaze was like a venomous snake slithering in the dark—clammy and cold.
A thin layer of sweat broke out on Joanna's back, and she didn't dare to meet his eyes. "I know, but Chester's return was so sudden, I never had the chance to get married abroad. Celestine has already met with him. You have to promise me you'll get rid of her soon. Otherwise, even if you expose all my secrets, I won't be able to do what you want!"
Victor stared at her, then suddenly smiled.
He traced a finger along her fair neck, then his hand shot out and clamped down hard.
"I hate being threatened."
Joanna's eyes widened, and she beat at the man's arm with all her strength.
But the difference in their power was too great for her to break free.
After a long moment, just as she was about to lose consciousness, Victor finally let go. He grabbed her chin, his eyes icy. "Be a good girl and get Chester to sign. I'll give you everything you want."
Joanna struggled to suppress her terror, her body trembling uncontrollably.
She knew Victor hadn't been exiled just for harassing a female employee.
Those hands of his had killed before.
