“Hannah, are you really telling me you don’t know anything?” His words hung in the air.

Hannah shook her head, looking genuinely hurt. “If I’d known, I would’ve stopped Nana. Lawrence, don’t you trust me, even a little?”

Lawrence just gave this soft, almost mocking laugh. He didn’t bother to look at her, his lips twisting in a way that said he didn’t believe a word.

Odette had already finished sifting through the evidence. Her face was tight with worry. She could barely believe that the mess she worked so hard to clean up three years ago had come back around, and this time it was even worse. It all landed on Bonnie, and Odette could barely breathe, the guilt sitting heavy in her chest.
