Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 205

She’s going to forget you. For good. Forever.

Lawrence felt like he was being pulled apart at the seams. One minute, his rational side was in control. The next, his inner demons dragged him under. He could barely stand it—the pain twisted his face, making him look almost frightening.

Abbot watched the lines on Lawrence’s face tighten with every muscle twitch, anxious and scared, wanting to step in but not daring to speak. It didn’t matter. Lawrence had already pushed past him and walked into the room.

Nana sat there, looking washed out, her skin pale and drained of that spoiled-rich-girl bravado she used to have. The moment she saw Lawrence, she flinched, her head dipping so fast it was almost instinct.

His voice sounded like gravel, rough and broken. “Just admit it was Hannah. Admit she told you what to do. Admit you started that whole mess online because she asked. You tell me the truth, your family’s business stays clean. I won’t drag them into this.”

Nana’s eyes flew up in shock. Was Lawrence really ready to throw Hannah to the wolves?

“It’s not that I don’t want to tell you,” Nana managed, her voice unsteady. “It’s just… it won’t help. I don’t have proof.”

She wasn’t some loyal sidekick—she just knew Hannah was too smart to get her own hands dirty.

Lawrence’s tone went flat. “Just talk. Let me decide if it’s useful or not.”

Nana looked worn out, like she hadn’t slept all night. She slumped back and gave in. “Back in October, Golden Horizon Enterprises was about to cut ties with our factory. My dad told me to invite Hannah to dinner. You know, try to save the deal. I brought some friends along. Hannah showed up late. She looked pissed. After the meal, I drove her home. It felt like the contract was a lost cause. But then, a few days later, Golden Horizon called us back. Not only did they keep the deal, they sent over a huge order…”

She’d immediately called Hannah to say thanks. And as they chatted, she’d let the words slip—she didn’t know how to ever repay her, but if Hannah ever needed a favor, just name it.

Hannah had just laughed and asked if she really meant it, told her not to back out when the time came.
