Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 313

Bonnie was well-accustomed to his smooth-talking. Without batting an eye, she continued organizing her files and started handing out assignments. "You're just in time."

"Look up domestic and international examples of pedestrian streets—both new builds and renovations. And that 3D model for The Benevolence Chapel? You've been dragging your feet on it for days. I'm giving you one day to finish all of this."

She might have been busy with her thesis, but she hadn't let her active projects slip.

The Benevolence Chapel restoration was a small practice project Dale had given her. She had been leading Perry through the design phase. Due to some internal disputes in the village, the project was paused, but they still needed to push the designs forward just in case the client suddenly demanded to see them.

Perry groaned in agony. "No way, Bonnie! You were busy with your graduation, but I had finals! I pulled several all-nighters drafting, and the second I walk in, you're putting me to work."

Bonnie chuckled. "Who asked you to come in? And from what I hear, you finished your finals ages ago, and your design reviews are done. I thought you were here today to turn over a new leaf and work hard over the summer."

A brilliant smile lit up Perry's young, handsome face. "I just saw you were finally back and wanted to come hang out with you."

Bonnie held up a sheet of paper to block his face. "Enough sweet talk! Go do your work!"

The undergrad was a slacker who acted like everyone's best friend. He was his class president and highly talented in design. Professor Dale liked him and frequently called him into the studio to help out the older students.

At first, Bonnie genuinely wasn't used to someone so casually affectionate, someone who could drop an "I missed you to death" to just anyone. But eventually, she got used to it.

Or, in Yvonne's words, she became numb to it.

Perry tried to whine his way out of work a bit longer, but Bonnie wasn't buying it. She was already immersed in her own tasks.

Looking at her profile, she seemed aloof. She rarely spoke unless it was about work, but Perry knew she was warm-hearted underneath.

She was the kind of senior who always covered for the younger students. She rarely took credit for the successes but always shouldered the blame for the mistakes.
