Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 332

Bonnie fell back into a broad, solid chest. She instinctively looked up, and upon seeing Lawrence's concerned gaze, she let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Realizing Bonnie wasn't the one stumbling completely out of control, Lawrence's heart settled back into his chest. He steadied her on her feet. "Take it easy. Can you stand?"

Bonnie nodded. "I'm fine. Help her, please."

Lawrence looked down, carefully studying Bonnie's face. Her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were misty. It was obvious she had been drinking, which only deepened his worry.

When he noticed the group of men nearby still staring, his expression darkened. He shot them a chilling, predatory glare, and the men quickly averted their eyes.

He shifted his body, shielding Bonnie and Yvonne from view, before grabbing Yvonne's arm to take the weight off Bonnie.

"How much did you two drink?" Lawrence asked, glancing toward his car parked a short distance away. "Should I carry her over?"

Yvonne was in a drunken haze, entirely unable to distinguish who was holding her. She squinted up at Lawrence. The white button-down, the black slacks, the silver-rimmed glasses—silhouetted against the streetlights, the outfit triggered a painfully familiar memory. In that split second, she mistook him for someone else.

Drunk people possessed surprising strength. She shoved Lawrence hard, her voice cracking as she screamed. "You jerk! Now you know how to come back?! Where the hell were you earlier?!"

Lawrence froze.

Neither party realized there was a massive misunderstanding. One continued her tearful, drunken accusations, while the other stood silently with pursed lips, looking as if he were genuinely reflecting on his sins.

He didn't dare say a word. He barely even dared to breathe.

Bonnie was speechless.

She rubbed her temples, realizing they were drawing a crowd again. She quickly stepped in front of Yvonne, coaxing her softly. "Be good, you've got the wrong guy. Let's just go home, okay?"

She turned back to Lawrence with an apologetic look. "She's not yelling at you. Don't take it personally."

Thinking she was trying to comfort him, Lawrence managed a tight smile. "It's fine."

To be fair, he felt he deserved to be called a jerk anyway.

Yvonne wasn't finished. "You absolute bastard, I won't forgive you so easily..."
