He would drop off food, drinks, and gifts, sometimes just staying to chat and share a pot of tea before heading out.
When it came to the inevitable pressure of having kids, he navigated it flawlessly. He never showed an ounce of annoyance and, more importantly, he never let a drop of that pressure land on Bonnie's shoulders.
But naturally, his most terrifying display of energy was reserved for the bedroom.
He was endless, greedy, and downright wicked.
Last night, he had kept her awake until the early hours of the morning.
Lawrence had taken her to the edge so many times that pushing her over the peak was effortless for him now.
Bonnie's nails dug fiercely into the hard muscles of his back, her skin slick with sweat.
Lawrence pinched her soft cheek and pressed a kiss to her lips. "Zoning out? What's on your mind?"
There was no way in hell she was going to admit she was internally cursing his freakish stamina. If she told him, his ego would inflate to the moon. She stubbornly kept her mouth shut. Lawrence didn't push it; he just bundled her up in a plush blanket and carried her to the bathroom.
Eventually, Bonnie cracked and mumbled a compliment, telling him he still had the terrifying vitality of a twenty-year-old.
It was so much she could barely handle him.
Lawrence laughed, a deeply pleased, dark sound.
He only replied with two words.
"Of course."
...
When Bonnie and Lawrence pulled up to the hotel, the birthday party hadn't officially started yet.
Ned was holding baby Leo, while Helen clung to her husband's arm. The family of three was dressed in matching outfits, greeting guests at the door with massive smiles. The moment they spotted Bonnie and Lawrence, they waved excitedly.
Little Leo was one year old and looked so perfect he belonged in a comic book.
He had huge, round eyes that looked like dark grapes, and an impossibly adorable little nose and mouth.
