Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 493

She no longer had to lie and sneak around just to date him. Now, they could walk out into the open for proper dates without a single shred of guilt.

With both sets of parents tacitly approving the relationship, a massive psychological burden was lifted. Her love life was absolutely thriving, and a radiant smile became a permanent fixture on her face.

By the time winter slammed into Cabinda, she was completely entirely herself around him, entirely relaxed and natural. As Helen loved to tease her, she was glowing with the unmistakable high of a girl getting thoroughly loved.

Her birthday happened to land on a Friday. Turning nineteen, surviving her first semester of college, and securing an incredible boyfriend made this particular birthday feel like a massive milestone.

He fully intended to spoil her rotten. Over at his personal penthouse at The Observatory, he prepared a lavish dinner spread to celebrate.

Over the short two months they had been together, he had quickly realized that left to her own devices, she was atrocious at feeding herself. Whenever she was buried in Life Drawing at the studio, she would easily starve herself for an entire day, too hyper-focused to even look away from the canvas.

Since her stomach was a sensitive mess from years of neglect, he had practically forced himself into becoming a master chef, cooking for her every single chance he got.

He didn't have any classes that day, so he picked up the groceries early and drove to campus to pick her up. Along the way, thick snow began drifting from the sky, quickly escalating into a heavy blizzard.

A thick layer of white quickly blanketed the streets.

He texted her, ordering her to wait inside the studio and not step out into the cold. When she didn't reply, he assumed she was just deeply entrenched in her project.

Architecture was a brutal, time-consuming major. Given her intensely competitive and meticulous nature, it was incredibly common for her to drop off the grid completely, ignoring his texts and calls for hours.

But if he was even a minute late replying to her, she would pitch a complete fit.

The thought made a slow, amused smirk curve his lips. She was such a terrifying little tyrant with him, a stark contrast to the quiet, polite girl she played for the rest of the world.

She saved all her most vicious torture strictly for him.

Combined with the fact that she had been completely ignoring his texts, Lawrence’s brain instantly provided the toxic conclusion: they had been holed up together this entire time, which was why she hadn't bothered replying.

His mood violently plummeted, turning infinitely colder than the freezing snow around him.

His jaw locked tight, and with a murderous look in his eyes, he stalked directly toward them.

Bonnie was internally panicking, trying to figure out how to shut down Preston's pushy offer to walk her back to the dorms, when she spotted Lawrence slicing through the snowstorm, heading right for her.

Her entire face immediately lit up. Completely disregarding the lethal ice, she threw herself down the stairs, sprinting straight toward him.

His dark expression faltered slightly. He closed the distance in three massive strides, catching her fully against his chest the exact second her feet flew out from under her.
