Truth be told, it was the first time she had seen him so exposed. Although she had stayed over at The Observatory a few times, he was always a perfect gentleman and never strutted around half-naked. Both of them were momentarily caught off guard.
A furious blush spread across Bonnie's face. Forgetting all about the love letter in her hand, she scrambled out of the covers, jumped off the bed, and made a run for it.
She didn't even stop for her slippers.
Lawrence raised an eyebrow and let out a low chuckle. He caught her effortlessly by the waist with one arm. She gasped as her back slammed flush against a solid, scorching hot chest.
The contrast in their body temperatures was like fire meeting ice. She felt like she was melting under his heat. She shook her head pitifully. "I... I'm not ready for this."
He feigned confusion. "Ready for what? I don't know what you mean."
She knew he was teasing her and shot him a glare over her shoulder. He laughed, silencing her with a kiss as he hooked an arm under her legs and tumbled them both onto the mattress.
Their lips met in a heated, consuming tangle. They had both just brushed their teeth—she tasted like peach, he like crisp mint. Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs, her attempts to push him away weak and entirely useless.
He caught both her wrists, pinning them above her head, and braced himself over her. A dark, predatory fire burned in his gaze. She looked up at him in a panic as he slowly lowered his head, initiating another devastating kiss.
It was a kiss dripping with both raw desire and profound tenderness.
It had been over a month since they officially started dating, and this was the first time he had pushed the boundaries. But even so, he restrained himself, only allowing his lips to trace down her neck and collarbone.
He didn't want to terrify her.
She was still so innocent and blindly compliant to his wishes. If he truly pushed for it, she probably wouldn't stop him.
She was the kind of girl who, once in love, would give him absolutely everything.
How could he bear to take advantage of that?
