Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 506

By Bonnie's third day sketching in Verdania, Lawrence had aggressively cleared his schedule and flown out to surprise her. However, what should have been a romantic reunion quickly turned into their first real fight. The reason was entirely predictable: Lawrence's notorious jealousy. After navigating a maze of winding cobblestone alleys in the ancient town, he finally tracked her down, only to see her sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with Preston, the two of them chatting as they worked. A surge of pure, unadulterated rage spiked straight to Lawrence's head. Helen and a few other classmates were sitting nearby, but Lawrence had tunnel vision. All he saw was his girlfriend sitting next to a guy who clearly had ulterior motives, both of them sketching the exact same stretch of Heritage Slate Architecture. Against the romantic backdrop of mountains and rivers, anyone looking at them from behind would assume they were a couple. It took every ounce of Lawrence's legendary self-control not to lose his temper on the spot. Masking his fury, he walked over, carrying drinks and snacks, and casually greeted her classmates. Because he practically lived at the design studio back on campus, her friends all knew him. They teased him about keeping Bonnie on such a tight leash, and Lawrence took the ribbing with a smooth, agreeable smile. Preston looked noticeably uncomfortable. Luckily for him, Lawrence didn't start a scene. Preston packed up his things shortly after, muttering an excuse, and made a quick exit. On the surface, Lawrence was perfectly charming, but Bonnie could tell he was furious. She felt completely helpless. She had been sitting there first, halfway through her sketch when Preston had wandered over. It wasn't like they were pressed against each other—there was a good couple of feet between them. But she knew Lawrence. He was fiercely possessive, and ever since they had become physically intimate, that territorial instinct had skyrocketed. Sometimes, it drove her a little crazy. The second Preston sat down, she had known Lawrence was going to have a meltdown if he saw them. But what was she supposed to do? Pack up and storm off the moment a TA sat down nearby? It would have been incredibly awkward, especially with her friends sitting right there. So, she had kept her mouth shut and simply finished her work. Later that evening, Lawrence took her and Helen out for local cuisine. As soon as dinner wrapped up, Helen practically sprinted back to her own hotel, shooting Bonnie a knowing wink that clearly said, 'Don't bother coming back tonight.' The moment Helen was out of sight, Lawrence's demeanor turned to ice. Not wanting to fight in public, he swallowed his anger and led Bonnie back to his luxury hotel suite. The second the door clicked shut, he flicked on the lights, tossed his duffel onto the table, and just stared at her. Bonnie hated when he looked at her like that. Whenever they disagreed, Lawrence was always the one to immediately compromise and yield. Seeing him so cold and rigid felt incredibly jarring. But she had missed him and really didn't want to fight. She walked over, wrapping her arms around his waist, and looked up at him. "Why are you so mad? I barely even spoke to him." "Him?" Lawrence let out a dark, cynical laugh. "You mean Preston? Candie, I told you to stay away from that guy. He constantly hovers around you, completely ignoring the fact that you have a boyfriend. He has zero respect for boundaries." Lawrence rarely trash-talked people behind their backs, but his restraint snapped. Bonnie gave his arm a little shake. "Well, you're here now, and he left. Please don't be mad." She assumed a little affection would soften him up like it always did. She was wrong. Lawrence was unmovable tonight. His jaw was clenched tight, his expression stormy. He had pulled two back-to-back all-nighters just to finish his projects and spent the entire day traveling to get to her. He was physically exhausted, driven purely by how desperately he had missed her.
