Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 522

Exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster of the day, Bonnie washed up and immediately crawled into bed. Lawrence sat by her side until her breathing evened out, then quietly slipped into the living room to make a phone call.

He ordered the family driver to head out to the Ski Resort and retrieve Hannah.

Checking the time, he knew the devastating accident hadn't occurred yet. As long as he intervened tonight, Hannah would remain physically intact for now.

But Lawrence wasn't naive. With her twisted obsession and borderline psychotic mental state, she would never accept his relationship with Bonnie peacefully.

She was bound to retaliate with new, venomous schemes.

Shaking off the thought, Lawrence walked into the study to draft a game plan for his upcoming confrontation with Odette and Carl. He was still legally a student with limited personal resources, but his absolute trump card was nearly a century of future knowledge. Maneuvering through this mess would be child's play.

Sitting at the computer desk, he sifted through decades of buried memories. Outside the window, Cabinda was swallowed by the pitch-black night; inside, the room was bathed in the warm, amber glow of a desk lamp.

The study door was left slightly ajar. From his seat, a quick glance offered a perfect view of the master bed, where Bonnie was deeply and peacefully asleep.

If this was all just a spectacularly vivid hallucination, it was far too convincing. It was so real that Lawrence was genuinely terrified to close his eyes, paralyzed by the fear that sleep would shatter the dream.

Time blurred. He sat motionless for so long that his joints completely locked up. Finally, he forced himself to stand, quietly slipping into the bed and pulling Bonnie tightly against his chest.

Bonnie didn't wake. She merely shifted, finding a comfortable pocket in his embrace before falling back into a deep slumber.

Lawrence reached out and clicked off the floor lamp. Just as he prepared to force himself to sleep, his phone buzzed. It was a text from the driver, confirming that a blackout-drunk Hannah had been safely dropped off at The Hamilton.

He locked his screen and closed his eyes.

...

When dawn broke, Lawrence woke up first. For a split second, his mind was entirely blank. He stared at the modern ceiling fixtures, his eyes adjusting to the dim morning light. It wasn't until he registered the warm, heavy weight against his chest and the silky soft skin under his palm that reality sank in. He was truly back at twenty-one.
