Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 366

Capital City General Hospital, underground Level 2, The City Morgue.

Julian Lowell arrived in an absolute daze. The moment he heard Rosalie Vance’s agonizing sobs echoing down the hall, his legs gave out, and he nearly collapsed onto the linoleum floor.

He stared at the heavy, freezing metal door ahead. His eyes were entirely bloodshot. It took him a long moment to force his feet to move forward. With trembling hands, he pushed the door open.

The crying grew louder.

He saw Rosalie collapsed over a metal gurney, sobbing until she couldn't catch her breath.

He saw the solemn morgue attendants standing quietly to the side.

He saw...

No.

This had to be fake.

It had to be a lie.

Julian's bloodshot eyes locked onto the shrouded lump beneath the white sheet on the gurney. Shaking his head in fierce denial, he stumbled forward, practically collapsing against the edge of the bed as he reached out to pull back the fabric.

"You can't do that!"

One of the attendants quickly stepped forward, grabbing his arm to stop him. "Sir, the deceased was severely burned in the fire. The sight will only traumatize you."

Julian's chest tightened as if a massive hand had crushed his heart. The agony was suffocating.

Gritting his teeth, he took a ragged breath and fought off the attendant like a madman. He ripped the white sheet away and looked down.

Instantly, the air vanished from his lungs. All the color drained from his face.

The body on the table was destroyed by the flames—the skin charred, cracked, and blackened. It was a horrific sight.

Yet, even through the devastation, the silhouette and bone structure were unmistakable. It was Clara Vance.

Julian's dark eyes trembled violently. He stood frozen in place, rooted to the spot as if struck by lightning.

Every sense in his body was magnified to a painful extreme. His heart hammered so fiercely it threatened to break his ribs, and his eyes burned with unshed tears.

After what felt like an eternity, he finally moved. He shook his head in absolute breakdown, caught between desperate self-delusion and pure escapism.

"No. Impossible. This is impossible."

"Julian Lowell! You absolute bastard! Give Clara back to me!"

Rosalie, who had nearly passed out from crying, suddenly scrambled up from the floor. She lunged at Julian in hysterics, wildly beating her fists against his chest.

"This is all because of you! You killed her! Give her back to me!"
