Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 369

The rain continued to fall.

Somerset.

Inside a luxurious VIP hospital suite.

The medical monitors hummed with a steady, rhythmic beep.

Clara lay against the pillows, her delicate features incredibly pale. Following a restless nightmare, her fingers twitched anxiously before her heavy eyelids slowly fluttered open.

Dominic Jarrett was seated right beside the bed, his unwavering attention locked onto her. Seeing her wake, he instantly stood up, leaning over the mattress with a look of pure relief.

The protective affection in his eyes was entirely unhidden.

"You're awake?" his voice was incredibly soft, almost reverent, as if he were terrified that speaking too loudly would shatter the moment. "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"

Clara's eyelashes fluttered. She turned her head to look at him, and a sudden wave of tears welled in her eyes.

Dominic paused. Assuming she was in physical pain, he gently brushed a strand of hair from her cheek. "Does something hurt? Let me go get Dr. Aris."

Tears spilling over, Clara shook her head. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she let out a raspy whisper. "No..."

Dominic was infinitely patient. He warmly enveloped her hand in his. "Then what's wrong?"

Clara sniffled softly. "Dominic... thank you."

So that was it.

Dominic let out a quiet sigh of relief. His thumb soothingly traced the back of her hand. "It's nothing. As long as you're safe, that's all that matters."

Clara's eyes burned. Remembering the loose ends, she looked up anxiously. "What about Rosalie..."

Dominic gently squeezed her tense shoulder. "I've already spoken with Rosalie. She knows exactly what's going on. Everything is fine."

"As for Julian..." His gaze darkened slightly. "He's not doing well. He fully believes you're gone, and he's spending every waking moment drowning in regret."

He didn't need to elaborate. Clara could easily guess the miserable state her ex was in. Her expression cooled.

Noticing her silence, Dominic assumed she was feeling sympathetic. He tightened his grip on her hand. "Clara..."

Realizing he had misunderstood, Clara quickly clarified.

"I'm not worried about him. He brought every bit of this upon himself. I just feel... it's still not enough."

Dominic's eyes lit up with sudden understanding. "What do you have in mind?"

Clara looked at him, a trace of hesitation in her voice. "I'm going to need your help with something else."

Dominic offered a handsome smile. "It would be my absolute pleasure."

Clara's gaze wavered, and she shyly lowered her eyelashes.

"I have photos of Julian and Seraphina on my phone. I want you to hand them over to the press. Expose their scandal to the world!"
