too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian) novel Chapter 384

Ruby nodded and asked, "Where's the competition?"

"Why? Are you planning to travel all the way out there to watch?" Noah raised an eyebrow, his silver hair giving him a roguish charm.

"Maybe, if I have the time," Ruby replied indifferently.

"Alright, I'll get you a ticket to the front-row seat later."

To him, it was simple—if she wanted to watch, she could, as long as she didn't interfere with Kieran and Lila's honeymoon.

Noah yawned again before heading off to find Nicole and discuss his plans to leave.

Lila had been feeling drowsy on the car ride, but she was wide awake again after a shower.

A message from Amelia appeared on her phone. "When are you leaving? Where to?"

"Tomorrow afternoon, to the islands of Stenburg."

Before she could get a response, there was a knock on the door.

She glanced at her long sleeves and pants pajamas, making sure they were appropriate before opening them. "Uncle Kieran, what's up?"

Kieran handed her a glass of water. "We've got a long flight tomorrow. Rest early tonight. I'll pack your luggage in the morning. We don't need to bring much. Anything you're missing, we can buy when we get there."

Lila hadn't expected him to come specifically to remind her. She nodded, and he left after a brief moment.

Although she wasn't working lately, her biological clock still had her waking up early.

Lila didn't want him to pack for her—after all, he wasn't her maid. But when she started packing, he couldn't help but laugh. "Let me do it."

He stopped her from adding more to the suitcase, pulling out a few clothes she had already packed.

"Just take one or two outfits for emergencies. We can buy more when we get there," he explained gently.

Lila felt a little dazed watching him so seriously. Their interaction almost felt like that of an old married couple.

She paused, unsure why the term "family man" suddenly popped into her mind.

She thought she might be losing her mind.

Just then, the hotel staff arrived with food, interrupting her thoughts.

With his damp hair still dripping, Kieran grabbed a towel and gently dried her hair. His movements were so natural that it was as if he had done it a thousand times before.

Lila felt a bit awkward. "I can do it myself…"

Before she could finish, she found herself lifted off the ground. By the time she realized it, she was sitting on the man's lap.

"It's my responsibility to serve Mrs. Morgan."

Serve?

Lila's mind went blank for a moment. What about later tonight?
