When did Pierre come out? Lila withdrew her gaze and continued to walk forward. He walked in her direction. When she stopped walking, he stopped walking. When she continued to walk, the latter followed after her.
Without turning around, she continued to walk forward. When she was about to enter indoors, he spoke up. "Lila."
There were many people around. Lila gauged the safe distance and took a few steps back as she turned to look at Pierre. He had already put on his mask. As his appearance seemed strange, passersby couldn't help but look at him.
"Now, you know I didn't deceive you, right?"
Lila's gaze turned cold. "So?"
She stared at his hand, afraid he had a sharp weapon. She didn't want him to go insane suddenly.
"Let's make a deal."
"Will you ask for something impossible?" Lila sneered. "Now that the Locke family is about to be wiped out completely, do you think you can escape? So, you came to me to make one last desperate gamble?"
The Locke family had been targeted by Kieran several times. Their businesses had suffered severe damage. However, due to their solid foundation, they hadn't completely collapsed.
The Locke family was currently in chaos, yet Pierre was in the mood to meet up with Lila. Perhaps he wanted the Locke family to collapse the most. But what did that have to do with Lila?
"To be honest, my interest in you hasn't decreased."
Upon hearing that, Lila was so disgusted that she wanted to puke.
"I'll lure the murderer of your parents, and you'll protect my sister."
Pierre looked at Lila with a vicious gaze. His gaze was like a poison mushroom growing in a dark corner, letting out poison gas at any time and killing people.
"Do you think I'll believe you?"
"Lila, don't you find it strange?" Pierre asked instead of answering Lila's question. When he took a step forward, she took a step back.
"It would bring the entire Morgan Group Headquarters down. Knowing this outcome, do you really think that Kieran or the Morgan family would help you?"
Lila looked at Pierre silently. A while later, she said, "Initially, you had the chance to protect your sister, but you ruined your chance."
Pierre seemed to have heard a joke. "A family as corrupt and chaotic as the Morgan family doesn't deserve to exist. Do you think I've never envied others? Don't you think I wanted loving parents too? Did this world ever give me the right to choose? I thought you would understand me.
"What does it feel like to hear your parents' death with your own ears? Is it any less cruel than me watching my mother being forced to leap from a tall building right in front of my eyes?"
Lila looked at Pierre. "You knew whose fault it was. Go and take revenge. Why are you harming the innocent by using your revenge as an excuse? You're no different from your father, who's a murderer."
Pierre snorted as he looked at Lila. "Forget it. I'll give you some time to consider this. My request is simple. Protect Vivian and send her overseas. I'll resolve your parents' grudge. Isn't it fair?"
Pierre glanced behind Lila. "I'll give you one week to consider this. Then, I'll come to you again."
