Chapter 175 Allison’s Suicide

10 vouchete

At the top floor of the Cartier Apartment in the city center, the massive floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the entire downtown area.

Allison stood in the entryway, her red dress lit up beneath the crystal chandelier.

The doorbell rang, and she opened it right away, her smile radiant but unable to hide the wildness in her

eyes.

“You’re here?” Allison’s voice was soft, as if she were welcoming a lover home late.

Brandon burst in, nearly knocking the door off its hinges in response.

He swept through the apartment like a storm, searching every corner, but Kendra was nowhere in sight.

His rage exploded. In a few strides, he was in front of Allison, his grip like steel around her slender neck. “Where’s my daughter?”

His fingers tightened, and a faint crack sounded from her throat.

Allison’s eyes widened as she clawed at his arm, her nails leaving crimson streaks of blood across the back of his hand.

But Brandon didn’t even seem to feel the pain. With a violent swing of his arm, he threw her hard to the floor. Her back slammed into the corner of a cabinet, pain shot through her, and her vision went black.

Allison doubled over, coughing so hard that tears sprang to her eyes.

A few seconds later, she let out a low, bitter laugh, using the wall to push herself up. The folds of her red dress rippled like waves of blood.

“Don’t worry,” Allison said, her voice hoarse but strangely gentle. “I won’t hurt your daughter.”

Brandon’s knuckles were bone-white from the force, his voice a deep, guttural roar-like a wild beast unleashed. “What the hell do you want?!”

Allison ran her fingers over the bruises on her neck, then lifted her gaze to him. Tears trembled on her lashes, but her smile was dangerously wicked. “I want to have a little chat with you.”

“Chat?” Brandon let out a cold sneer, his gaze cutting right through her. “You think you even deserve that?”

“I know how ruthless you are,” Allison said, her tone tinged with unwillingness, every word sharp as a hook. “But everything I did was because I loved you.”

Brandon’s eyes flashed with scorn, as if he’d just heard the punchline to the world’s cruelest joke.

“Love me?” Brandon sneered. “Back when my father died and I came home to take over the company, you ran off to Afrogan with that old man for your so-called ‘human rights crusade. Did you forget that?”

Allison’s face went ghostly pale, her lips trembling, but no sound came out.

Brandon kept closing in, his tone getting harsher with every step. “And now you’re back because the corporate sharks you serve want to hunt me down, so you staged that whole act with Kane, right?”

With every word, he took another step forward.

Allison was backed up against the floor-to-ceiling window, her back pressed against the cold glass, like she wa pinned to the edge of a cliff.

“Yeah, I admit it. At first, it was all about the money,” Allison said.

She curled her lips into a smile-wild, almost desperate, and heartbreakingly sad.

She added, “But in the end, I walked away, didn’t I? I spared you, Brandon. I gave you a chance.”

“You didn’t spare me. I set the trap and made the people backing you realize it just wasn’t worth the price, so they pulled o their own, Brandon said, his voice cold and final, like a judge passing sentence. “They

Confess my crimes?” Allison tilted her head, her tears and laughter tangled together in a twisted smile.

Jumping out the window would be quicker.

Confessing would be the end of her. And escape was off the table now.

Now, all her plotting had forced herself into a dead end with no escape.

Madness burned in her eyes. If she couldn’t share life with him, she’d entangle him with her death.

Seeing the frenzy burning in her eyes, Brandon felt a sharp ache and a surge of fear.

“Brandon, if you can’t love me, then hate me for the rest of your life,” Allison said.

She glanced back with a twisted smile, her eyes rimmed with crimson.

The next second, she threw open the floor-to-ceiling window. Cold wind whipped through, sending her ret dress billowing as she plunged like a broken-winged butterfly into the darkness below.

“Allison!” Brandon shouted, throwing himself forward in desperation.

But all he grabbed was a patch of cold air.

His fingertips brushed silk, the edge of her dress slipping through his fingers. He couldn’t stop in time. His shoulder crash the window frame, sharp pain exploding instantly.
