Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 452

Liliana understood all of this logically.

But it was incredibly difficult not to let her mind run wild.

Because it was just so, so absurd.

Fate had played an enormous joke on her.

A joke that began with a month of bizarre and terrifying dreams.

Back then, Liliana couldn't bear to think about it. She was emotionally tormented, backed into a corner where her only way to save herself was to leave Linton.

Was she wrong to do so?

Not if she wanted to survive.

Was Linton wrong?

For her to have been so tormented, could he truly say he was blameless? She had brought up certain problems so many times. Why did he have to wait until things escalated to a breaking point before he realized he needed to change?

She undoubtedly harbored resentment toward him.

Even now, she wasn't sure what her feelings for Linton were anymore.

...But none of that seemed to matter now.

He was gone. Talking about feelings was meaningless.

The weather in Solmere City was clear and crisp, the blue sky vast and cloudless.

Liliana walked off the plane in silence and headed straight for the hospital without stopping.

She was trembling violently, her head bowed. She didn't dare to look straight ahead, as if she were afraid of what she might see, yet also hoping to see it. She was a mess of conflicting emotions.

Gabriel gently took her hand, trying to give her the courage to face reality. "Let's go, Liliana," he said softly.

If he was alive, why hadn't he appeared all this time? Why hide away in a small, remote town in Solmere City to recover, without contacting any of them, letting everyone believe he was dead?

Lucas fell silent for a moment. He opened his mouth, but there was so much to explain that he didn't know where to begin.

After a long pause, he sighed heavily and stepped aside, gesturing for them to follow. "Miss Hart, some things… it's better for you to see for yourself," he said respectfully.

"Once you see Matthew in person, I'm sure you'll understand a lot of things."

Liliana's lashes trembled. She pressed her lips together and said nothing.

Her heart was pounding as if it would burst from her chest, and she couldn't stop her body from shaking.

She took a deep breath.

Trying to calm herself, she did her best to keep the tremor out of her voice. "I understand," she said hoarsely.

"Lucas… please take me to him."
