Mira answered with a smile.
“Then that’s very good.”
Mira had always been reserved in her speech.
Liora, on the other hand, couldn’t wait to check her answers against Mira’s.
“Wow, I got this one right.”
“I got this one right too! Thank goodness.”
“This one’s wrong. How did I get it wrong again?”
Liora was actually a good student, but she was too anxious and often made careless mistakes during exams.
It’s okay, I should be able to get around 110,” she said, referring to the language arts section, which had a maximum weight of 150 points.
“Liora, you need to fix that habit. On the next exam, remember to check your work several times. Don’t be in a rush to turn it in. If this were the national entrance exams, a single point could be the difference between a top-tier university and a safety school.”
“I know, Mira. Next time, I won’t hand in my paper until the final bell rings.”
More and more students began to file out of the exam hall, gathering in clumps to compare answers. A chorus of voices chattered as they tried to estimate their scores.
Celine and Elara were more composed, waiting until the official end of the exam before coming out.
They nodded at Mira, indicating that the test had gone well, and then they all started reviewing for the next subject together.
After the afternoon exam, they would stay at school to study for the next day's tests, and the teachers would also offer some last-minute pointers.
