Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1335

"You... you... I'll kill you!"

Lacey lunged at Fiona. But Fiona didn't catch her this time, letting Mara kick her away instead.

*Smack.* Lacey fell hard, her forehead scraping against the floor tiles and leaving a bloody streak.

Her entire body ached. It took several minutes before Lacey slowly lifted her head.

"Mara, you kicked me? You actually kicked me? I raised you from a baby, pampered you, and gave you the best of everything. Even if you aren't my biological daughter, you shouldn't treat an older woman like this!"

Lacey stared at Mara with bitter resentment, unable to accept reality.

"The best of everything? I asked for your shares, and you dragged your feet before finally tossing me a measly five percent! But the moment your third son asked, you gave him everything!"

"That's because Damon had an emergency! He promised to give it to you when he was done."

Mara scoffed, entirely unappreciative. "Give it to me when he's done? Go to hell. Damon made it sound like a loan, but did he ever pay it back? He just took it for good!"

"But I still loved you your whole life. Even when Mira was brought back, I prioritized you over everything."

"That's just because you're stupid. You didn't even trust your own flesh-and-blood son, and you couldn't even keep your own daughters straight."

Now that Mara had the upper hand, she refused to show any mercy.

Finally, Fiona stepped in to stop the bickering. "Enough. Stop wasting time with her. Be smart and sign the divorce settlement."

"I won't sign it. I will never sign it. I won't let you two cheating bastards get married!" Lacey ground her teeth.

"You don't have a choice."

As for Lacey, after being dumped at the intersection, she used her phone to call Damon. Shortly after, her son brought her into his apartment.

She stayed there until the police showed up shortly after to gather evidence, and she finally left.

Far away in Aethelgard, Ethan was on the phone giving Mira the update. "Lacey was kicked out of the house. The situation is pretty much the same as our past lives, and those three are currently behind bars."

"Did you report them, Ethan?"

"No, Roxanne Porter blew the whistle anonymously. She provided all the evidence too."

"So, have the Porters taken over the Mercer Group yet?"

"Not yet. They're just trying to acquire it in secret. We just need to wait until they've racked up enough criminal charges. That's when we strike."
