Owen glared at Mira. "What's there to see? Aren't you going home to study?"
"You work yourself to the bone all day, and now you want to go rubbernecking?"
Owen sounded exactly like an overbearing parent.
"But drama like this doesn't happen every day. I really want to go."
"It's not that far, anyway. Do you want to come with?"
Mira's daily routine of studying, working, and resting was highly regimented, so she didn't feel particularly exhausted.
"I'm not going."
Owen grabbed his briefcase and walked off.
"Suit yourself. I'll take the Iron Wolves with me."
Mira slipped into her coat, grabbing her bag with one hand as she headed for the elevator, buttoning her coat with the other. Brayden, who had been guarding the outer office, immediately followed her.
As Mira stepped out of the office building, a blast of cold air hit her face. It was mid-November in the north, and the evening temperature was hovering near freezing.
Ronan had already pulled the car around.
Seeing Mira approach, he opened the door and waited respectfully by the side.
Brayden flanked Mira as they walked toward the sports car.
Just then, Mira glanced up and saw Mr. Harth, making her jump in surprise.
She had almost forgotten—her tutor still needed to go home to prepare his lesson plans.
She quickly pulled out her phone and called for a company car.
"Mr. Harth, I have some errands to run today, so I won't be heading home just yet."
"A company car will be here any minute. I'll have the driver take you back."
Mr. Harth smiled and nodded. "Alright."
After making sure Mr. Harth was taken care of, Mira turned and climbed into her car. "What are you doing in my car? I thought you weren't coming?"
It was only after she got in that she noticed Owen sitting inside.
"If I didn't come, who knows how late you'd stay out messing around?"
"Tch, I'm not a three-year-old."
Solflare Entertainment was only about a fifteen-minute drive from the East District Police Station, so they arrived in no time.
Before getting out of the car, Owen added, "You have half an hour, tops."
"I never realized you were such a nagging mother hen."
