Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 380

Gripping her from both sides, they pinned her securely in place.

"What the hell are you doing?! Are you trying to assault me in broad daylight?!"

Seeing things escalate rapidly, Mara scrambled over, desperately trying to pull them apart. "Let's talk this out! We're all classmates! Don't ruin our friendship over this!"

Amidst the scuffle, Mira smoothly slipped her hand into Lexie's pocket and yanked out a syringe.

Holding the syringe up to the light, Mira commanded, "Liora, call the police right now."

Liora whipped out her phone, but hesitated just before hitting dial. "Shouldn't we report this to the school administration first?"

"The school can't handle this. I suspect this is filled with narcotics."

The syringe looked chillingly familiar. In her previous life, when she was kidnapped, her captors had stood nearby discussing drugs, casually holding this exact type of syringe.

Looking back, they hadn't bothered to hide it from her because they had already considered her a dead woman.

"What?! I'm calling my brother," Liora said.

Liora's older brother was Officer Bennett.

Anything involving narcotics was a major felony. Handing it straight to Officer Bennett would ensure they had zero room to maneuver or suppress the evidence.

"What narcotics?! You're out of your mind! That's for my chemistry experiment!" Lexie protested vehemently, though her voice noticeably wavered at the end.

Liora hit dial without hesitation. "Hey, get a team down here right now. We found what looks like illegal drugs at our school."

"Since when do chemistry experiments require hard drugs?" Elara asked sharply.

"It's not drugs! Give it back! I swear to God, I'll do anything you want! Please!" Lexie pleaded, all the color draining from her face.

"Lexie, that isn't drugs, right?" Mara asked, sounding deeply concerned, but her true goal was to publicly distance herself from the situation.

At this point, Mira couldn't be bothered to entertain them. She simply waited for the police.

It didn't take long for the principal and the dean of students to sprint over.

While Liora was on the phone with the police, Mira had also called the school administration.
