Silas Vane finished recounting the first half of the story with colorful flair, eventually reaching the part where Roxanne Porter got burned.
At the time, they had been acting on Mira's orders, keeping a close eye on Mara and Roxanne's every move.
It hadn't taken long before they spotted Mara walking over to grab a coffee.
They had initially felt a pang of regret, thinking they could only get to Mara this time and that Roxanne would slip away unscathed.
"Maybe it was divine intervention," Silas said, his voice brimming with excitement. "Roxanne just happened to finish her rounds greeting guests. As she brushed past Mara, Jax Weaver casually picked up a hard candy, found the perfect angle, and flicked it right at Mara's leg from a distance. That's what triggered the whole spectacle."
Like anyone trained in combat, Silas loved a good fight. He recounted the event with palpable thrill, treating it as his ultimate masterpiece.
By nightfall, Master Ellis's people had forwarded the photos of Roxanne intimately mingling with various men abroad.
Master Ellis had even reached out to confirm. "She's practically engaged to Xavier now, and you know how close Liora is to her. Are we really going to expose this?"
"Expose it," Mira had replied without hesitation. "If a person like her joins the Bennett family, it'll only drag them down."
Given the Bennett family's typical grace and how highly they valued Roxanne, this scandal probably wouldn't completely cancel the engagement. But as long as it shattered her pristine image, she would no longer be seen as an untouchable saint in the public eye.
The rest could be dealt with later.
After wrapping up the call with her mentor, Mira dialed Owen's number, eager to discuss the architecture of TitanPay. Instead of business, he sighed. "Do you have any idea what time it is?"
Mira glanced at the clock. "It's barely ten. We don't have school tomorrow."
"Don't you have to wake up at five for your training?"
Mira sighed. "She's not exactly old. She's in her early twenties, squarely in her prime, and absolutely gorgeous."
"Early twenties is practically ancient! I'm only eighteen, okay?"
It took a moment for Mira to remember that Harvey had just legally become an adult. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and usually carried himself with such seasoned confidence that she often forgot his actual age.
With her memories from her past life, Mira's mental age was far older, but Harvey was a genuine teenager. It made his sharp business instincts all the more impressive.
"A couple of years ago, Porter Entertainment did some business with my family," Harvey continued. "Her dad likes to play dirty. After that, my dad cut all ties with them."
Hanging up with Harvey, Mira still felt a lingering sense of unease. She immediately dialed Jordan Ellis.
"Master Ellis, posting one picture every hour makes it incredibly easy for them to track us down. You have to remember, Xavier works in law enforcement."
