Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 412

"Relax," her mentor replied smoothly. "They're being posted from different internet cafes, using different IP addresses and untraceable accounts. Every footprint is wiped clean the second the post goes live."

Master Ellis always had highly capable people in his corner.

Before Mira could even properly hang up, her phone lit up again. It was Liora.

As the anchor of their friend group, everyone naturally turned to Mira when crisis struck.

"Mira, those photos of Roxanne online... they can't be real, right? Someone is just trying to frame her," Liora sobbed through the speaker.

"Liora, your brother works in investigations, doesn't he? Have him run a check on them. That'll give you the truth."

"He already did," Liora choked out. "He said they're real. They can't figure out who is posting them, and every time they get one deleted, another pops up."

The Bennett family held a lot of prestige. They had just soft-launched their future daughter-in-law to the elite circle yesterday, and today her scandalous past was plastered across the internet.

It was a direct slap to the Bennett family's pride.

Still, a harsh wake-up call now was better than a delayed disaster. A bruised ego today was far better than the entire family tumbling down with her later.

Mira just hoped Xavier would use this opportunity to completely sever ties with Porter Entertainment.

Since they weren't married yet, Roxanne's actions had no legal ties to the Bennett family, even if it looked terrible for their social standing.

"Liora, since Xavier is handling it, you need to step back. Trust your brother's judgment."

"I know, but... do you think he'll break up with her? I really care about her. She's been so wonderful."

"If everything in those photos is true, do you really want her around?"

Mira had to tread lightly, guiding her friend rather than making the decision for her.

"No, they just can't be true."

"I hope for your sake they aren't."

Mira couldn't outright confirm the photos were real right now, or Liora would think she was rooting for their downfall.

The moment she disconnected, Celine called.

It made sense. Just yesterday, they had all watched the Bennett family parade their perfect match around, and today it had devolved into a massive spectacle.

"Guess she went abroad just to party."

"Things are too strict here, too much public pressure, so she let loose the second she crossed the border."

"Wait, isn't she about to marry Xavier Bennett? How many times is she going to cheat on him?"

"I thought Xavier bagged a goddess, but turns out he picked up someone else's trash."

...

Meanwhile, at the Bennett estate, Roxanne was sobbing uncontrollably in front of Xavier. "I can't take this! I don't want to live anymore. I wanted to jump off a bridge this morning, but I couldn't bear to leave you without saying goodbye. And my parents... who will take care of them if I'm gone? I'm so sorry."

She poured her heart out, but Xavier remained dead silent.

"Oh, sweetheart, we believe you," Evelyn Bennett said softly, dabbing Roxanne's tears with a tissue. "We know none of this is true. Some vicious, jealous person is trying to ruin you. Don't worry, our family will stand by you."

Evelyn's words were exactly what Roxanne desperately needed to hear.

But she needed them to come from Xavier's mouth, not his grandmother's.
