Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 628

"Alright, I understand," Eleanor replied softly.

Rachel and Martha worked efficiently, and several dishes were already plated on the table.

"Let's go eat."

Mira took her seat. She glanced over and saw Owen and Dominic still chatting on the sofa.

"Are you two not eating?"

"Haha, I figured Boss Mercer wasn't providing dinner tonight."

Dominic teased as he walked toward the dining table.

"Then I won't."

Please. If I wasn't feeding you both, why would Rachel be cooking a feast?

"No, no, I've heard Rachel's cooking beats any five-star chef."

Eleanor leaned in and whispered in Mira's ear, "These two young men are excellent catches. You should pick one of them soon."

"Pick one for what?"

Mira asked, caught off guard.

Eleanor cast a glance toward the men. "To be your boyfriend, you oblivious girl! With boys this exceptional, you need to lock them down before someone else snatches them up."

She affectionately tapped Mira on the forehead.

Mira stole a glance at the two men and whispered back, "Eleanor, you're out of your mind. I'm only eighteen."

"Eighteen isn't too young. Strike while the iron is hot. By the time you grow up, they'll be taken."

"Are they really that great?"

"They truly are. Trust my judgment. They're one in a million—no, one in a billion.

Don't make the same mistakes your mother did, passing up perfectly good men only to end up with scum like Adrian."

"Isn't that an exaggeration? If they're really one in a billion, how did I just casually stumble upon two of them?"

Mira thought Eleanor was being utterly dramatic.

"Introductions won't work. They only have eyes for you."

"We're just friends, Eleanor. Stop jumping to conclusions."

"I'm not jumping to anything. You better act fast."

Now she's pushing for marriage? Mira sighed in frustration, deciding to ignore the older woman.

By now, the table was fully set with BBQ ribs, lobster tails, and various sides.

"Rachel, isn't this a bit heavy for this late at night?"

"It's fine. It's still early, and I kept the portions reasonable. Just have a little bit of everything."

Mira watched Owen, Dominic, and the bodyguards at the next table digging in with gusto. Whatever, their metabolisms could handle it. She just needed to monitor Eleanor's portion sizes.

"Mira, pick me. I swear, you'll call all the shots for the rest of our lives.

Owen here is no good—he's way too controlling."

What? He heard that?!
