Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 70

She had played a disgraceful role in today's ranking incident. While netizens and the live audience were hammering Damon, she had caught a lot of flak as well.

Mira had already eaten dinner outside. Winning the championship today finally filled a void from her past life. After a long and draining day, she was tired and had no energy to argue with them. She glanced at the scene and started walking toward the stairs.

Adrian was smiling and talking to Mara, but when he heard footsteps and looked up to see Mira, his face immediately soured.

Before he could speak, Ethan called out to her. “Mira, we’re having a celebration dinner for you and Mara. Come and eat.”

A celebration dinner? It was obviously for Mara. They didn't even wait for her to start eating, and now she was supposed to be grateful?

“Well, thank you, but I already ate,” Mira replied perfunctorily.

“Mira, is that any way to behave?” Damon couldn't hold back his anger.

“You’d best not talk to me about behavior. I’m tired today and I don’t want to fight with you.” With that, Mira continued walking.

“Stop right there. Have you no respect for your parents? For your older brothers?”

“No, I don’t. What are you going to do about it?” Since you have no respect for me, don't expect me to have any for you.

“Mira, we’re a family, not enemies,” Ethan pleaded.

“Ha, a family? I certainly haven’t felt like it.”

“Mira, when did you become like this? Your brother Damon is only looking out for you,” Lacey said, looking at Mira with disappointment.

Adrian spoke up angrily, “Just ignore her. Let her do whatever she wants.”
