Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 828

Mira hadn't realized her man could be this childish.

"Mr. Lance, Mira isn't your personal property. She has her own judgment and her own social circle."

Harvey wasn't about to back down.

"She is my girlfriend, so she takes pictures with me. You got a problem with that?"

Owen glared fiercely at Harvey.

Knowing Owen responded better to a gentle approach, Mira looped her arm through his. "Owen, how about I take a picture with you first, and then one with the rest of our friends?"

Seeing him hesitate, she added, "Whenever I find something good to eat or a fun place to go, I always think of you first.

But they are my classmates, and they're our friends, too."

Mira leaned in close to whisper in his ear, "It's just a photo. We can't embarrass them in public."

Sure enough, it worked. "Fine, I suppose I can compromise just this once."

He then turned his attention back to Harvey. "But don't ever try to cut in front of me for a photo with Mira again."

Harvey wanted to ask if he could possibly be any more immature.

But he swallowed the words, wary that provoking the man further would just lead to more micromanaging.

Wesley muttered under his breath, "Who knew such a big boss could act like a toddler."

"Man, are you seriously jealous right now?"

Hank couldn't resist teasing Owen.

"Don't be ridiculous. Who's jealous?"

You are, clearly, Hank thought to himself.

The rest of the group watched their banter with amusement.

Owen shot them all a dirty look. "Nothing to see here."

Beatrice Whitlock whispered quietly to Ethan Mercer, "Your brother-in-law is quite a character."

"Hmph, there's nothing interesting about him. He's just terrified someone's going to steal my sister away."

"Ethan, he seems like a good guy. Why are you always so critical of him?"

Beatrice was genuinely puzzled.
