Margaret said nothing.

Half an hour later, Andrew leaned against the edge of the pool. A look of contentment spread across his handsome face-like a king of beasts who’d just feasted to his fill.

Margaret washed her hands clean and turned to leave.

Andrew, who’d had his eyes closed, heard her moving to leave. He snapped them open, alert as a startled beast.

“Maggie, where are you going?”

“To take a shower.” Her voice was cold and flat.

Listen closely, and a thread of agitated impatience came through-unfulfilled longing woven into her tone.

Andrew seemed not to notice her oddity. He just said, “Maggie, the pool’s big enough. You can shower here.”

Margaret stopped. She didn’t turn to look at him. Finally, she snapped irritably, “I need a cold shower, damn it!”

She was burning up.

Only Only her immense self-control had kept her from taking him right there in the pool!

She needed cold water to calm herself down.

Otherwise, she feared she really wouldn’t be able to hold back.

Next to the pool was a shower stall. Margaret kicked the door open-violently, aggressively.

She looked like an unstoppable devil, ready to cut down anyone who stood in her way!!

Andrew watched from the pool, silent.

Under the showerhead, Margaret cranked the cold water all the way up.

It was already autumn. The water in Mohler Manor came from mountain springs-icy cold, piercing to the bone.

Any ordinary person doused with such cold water from head to toe would have their scalp tingling with chill.

But Margaret stood under the spray. Even though the water was freezing, her expression didn’t change one bit.

She’d kicked the shower door off its hinges.

Andrew, sitting in the pool outside, fixed his gaze on her as she showered-quiet, appreciative.

Her graceful figure was half-hidden, half-revealed-beautiful as a painting.

Breathtakingly beautiful!

She let the cold water pour over her. The icy, stinging sensation felt like a massage to her. Ten minutes later, the restlessness in her heart had faded considerably.

Margaret grabbed a towel, wrapped it around herself, and walked out with elegant, noble strides.

Next to the bathroom was a walk-in closet.

This closet was bigger than a classroom at school. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. In the center stood a transparent glass cabinet.

Inside were all kinds of expensive watches, ties, and other accessories-fancier than the display cases in luxury stores.

On the left side of the closet were rows of men’s clothes.

Suits, shirts, casual wear-all black.

On the right side were rows of women’s clothes: dresses, tops, shoes, and more.

They filled the space, dazzling the eyes.

Margaret couldn’t help but wonder if he’d had an entire clothing store moved in.

The women’s clothes were also all black.

Clearly, Andrew had a penchant for black.

These women’s clothes were obviously prepared for Margaret-they were all her size.

Margaret didn’t know when Andrew had gotten them ready.

She casually picked up a black dress-different style, same color.

She approved of Andrew’s taste because she only liked black too,

“Andrew, come here. I’ll dry your hair.”

She was wrapped in a towel, half-covered. Her figure, her face-irresistibly charming and seductive.

Andrew’s eyes darkened.

He said, “Maggie.”

Her expression was icy, her tone sharp and commanding. “Don’t call me. It won’t do any good.”

Andrew fell silent. Has Maggie gotten too cocky?

Alright, fine. I’m actually in a great mood right now, so I guess I can let her off the hook this once.

Later, Margaret lifted Andrew out of the pool and set him down on a chair specially designed for him.

She began drying his hair carefully.

Her hands stayed rock-steady, her face ice-cold.

Not a single hint of a blush, not a single skipped heartbeat-from start to finish.

Her movements were methodical and crisp, yet somehow attentive and gentle at the same time.

Even with this kind of caring task, she showed no sign of impatience or disgust.

Andrew sat quietly the whole time, his gaze fixed on her-intense, unwavering.

It was as if she were the only thing in his world.

She lifted Andrew up again and placed him back in his wheelchair. Only then did Margaret turn to take care of herself.

She lifted her hand-and the towel in her grasp slipped, landing right on Andrew’s head.

Andrew fell silent.

Margaret set down the hairdryer and finally noticed-the fancy young guy had a towel draped over his head, his dignified image totally shot.

She calmly took the towel off his head. Then a tiny, careless smile tugged at her lips. “Andrew, sorry. I didn’t mean to.”

Andrew said nothing. He just pinned her with that dangerous, sharp gaze.
